The chalet is finished to a very high standard and has a magnificent shower. It is quiet and the view over Goudet and its chateau is awesome. Excellent table d'hôtes and breakfast. Since the rerouting of the GR3 and GR70 long-distance paths in this area, it is even easier to get to.

This was the surprise location on our journey. I booked it as I felt the dogs would like it. We all loved it. Different from our usual places to stay, but was a fantastic find.

The hosts were great!! We loved the accommodation, it was comfortable, roomy, and had everything you needed for an enjoyable stay. Mike and I were lucky to borrow the hosts' bikes. The surrounding areas of outstanding beauty made our cycle ride superb. Laure is a therapist, and I was lucky enough to have treatment. We would highly recommend The Refuge to anyone wishing a peaceful location with so much to see and do, or for a relaxing break.

The chalet was well equipped as well as having carefully selected furniture and accessories to make a lovely atmosphere. Even the terrace had been fitted with ample furniture and little touches. Much better than the pictures posted in booking website! The forest setting meant that you could also wake up and only see trees through the window.
