A magnificent place right in the heart of Punta do Ouro. The tents are incredibly spacious and beautifully maintained every day. And the meals prepared by Raquel were absolutely divine. I loved my time at Underwater Explorer! Both my stay and the diving were absolutely wonderful. The accommodation is simple and sufficient - perfect for a solo-traveler on a budget. I especially loved the laid-back and homey atmosphere, and I was very thankful for the good mosquito net and a strong fan in my room. The small pool is perfect for cooling off and lounging by the bar, plus it has an epic ocean view. And for an outdoor kitchen, the place is well-kept thanks to the hardworking housekeeping team, and well-stocked with cooking utensils, free coffee/tea, and plenty of refrigerators! The dive operation is well-organized, fun, and safe. My gear was well cared for, and the rental gear was in great condition. Shout out to the friendliest team of instructors and DMTs (Anísio + Liam, & Dirk, Laura, + Brandon), captain Tito, and all the guys working on the boats who made sure I had an amazing time. Everyone was very helpful from pre-trip planning to arrival (thank you for answering all of my questions, Martin!!!), and throughout my stay. I felt welcomed immediately and wish I had stayed more than 1 week! I’m so happy I chose to dive and stay at Underwater Explorer and am looking forward to my next trip. 10/10 would recommend.
