We had an amazing stay at Kandalama Lodge in Dambulla. The place is peaceful, beautifully designed, and blends perfectly with nature. Our room was clean, comfy, and had a lovely outdoor bathroom. The pool was spotless and perfect for cooling off. The food was delicious – I especially loved the barramundi fish! What really made the experience special was the staff, especially Madushan, who went above and beyond to make us feel welcome. Highly recommend this hidden gem! I don’t recommend the airport transfer service.

His warm hospitality, attention to detail, and genuine care made a big difference. Furthermore, he arranges Sri Lankan cooking lessons for foreign guests, which is a wonderful initiative to share our food and culture with the world. What impressed us most is that all of this is offered at an affordable price, and the team works tirelessly 24/7 to give their very best to guests. Overall, Rock Shade Chalet is a perfect place for a peaceful family getaway, and I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Sigiriya.

The owners were very kind, helpful and hospitable, they kept checking on us even though we were barely staying for one night. The food was lovely, simple and exceptional. The room has enough space, clean and the beds are huge with comfortable mattresses. It is located in a quiet area, the air is so fresh at night time so we sleep without fan. Morning breakfast cooked with love by owner’s wife, always fresh coconut roti, eggs and fresh fruits. Thank u guys. We really enjoy our time at your place.

We asked them if they could provide us with dinner and breakfast and it exceeded our expectations. They provided us with a delicious home cooked meal and fresh fruits straight from their own garden. We were in sri lanka for the first time and this was our first destination so we didnt really know how to get around and they took us everywhere with their tuktuks, arranged a good massage and a safari and helped us with finding the bus to trincomalee.
