When I left the lady who dropped me off to the airport gave me a flower necklace and I felt warm with this gift. The support in terms of tips and care was exceptional. They even have bikes available to use, which was my transport in the island. The place is ideal for solo traveler or a couple, is a studio with all you need and everything clean and modern.There are close restaurants and market but the beach is a bit faraway to go by bike.

For added privacy, the accommodation features a private entrance. Extremely comfortable accommodation, which was planned and built by my host. So amazing to have aircon and a beautiful power shower. Everything is new and spotlessly clean. Very comfortable bed and the best pillow in French Polynesia! Very quiet, peaceful location. Just 2 minutes walk through palm trees to a most stunning beach, which is actually next to probably the most expensive hotel in Rangiroa! Very kind, considerate hosts. Upon arrival I was festooned with a garland of sweet-smelling flowers. That evening, my hosts and their daughter presented me with a very welcome bowl of fruit and a plate of smoked fish. There is also fresh drinking water available. One evening I was dropped off in the dark at the wrong location by the dive company. A quick message to my host and he came and picked me up. Another day he invited me to come to the harbour with him to see the visiting nurse sharks. To our amazement a huge hammerhead also paid us a visit! After checkout I had a 4 hour wait which I was able to spend on the terrace under cover from the fierce sun. It was magical to spend time in one of the swinging chairs. My host promised me that he would say goodbye to me at the airport. True to his word, he suddenly appeared just as I was about to board the plane.

All units at the holiday home have air conditioning and a outdoor furniture. Jeannine lodge is a very cosy and intimate bungalow located just on a small private beach, with beautiful colors. The bungalow has a terrace from which you can see fishes and sharks passing by while you’re relaxing. It’s very quiet and you can really enjoy spending time there. Jeannine and her family are so kind and helpful, they put at your dispolas everything you need: food and everything needed for cooking, bycicles and their beautiful smiles. If I coud I would put more than 10. I preferred this to any of those big luxury resorts. This is a real hidden gem!

A balcony with an outdoor dining area and lake views is offered in all units. At the guest house, units are equipped with bed linen and towels. We spent some time at tiputa lodge, which is a perfect place to relax and be away from the crowds. The quite new house is divided into the part where Henry lives and the flat, which he rents out, so one is the only guest. The apartment is beautifully furnished and is designed to perfection. We found ourselves mostly sitting outside on the terrace overlooking the lagoon. It is a nice place to snorkel and swim and I also went out on the Kajak provided. There are also deckchairs at the water. You have two bikes to explore the islands.The internet is superfast and reliant. Henry makes a great breakfast, we loved all the coconut breads, cakes and the best sweet coconut water. Also he makes very nice joghurt. At night he would pick up something from the snack for us or drive us to a small restaurant and come to pick us up to bring us back. (He did not advice to bike at night because of the dogs). We had a lovely time at Henry, we shared his passion for diving and we can recommend Tiputa lodge 100%

Rangiroa Airport is 3 km from the property, and the property offers a paid airport shuttle service. Mana and her family could not have been more welcoming. From morning till night, they were there with smiling faces to help us with our every need. They felt like family by the end of our 7-day stay. We had booked a double room with a private bathroom. The bedroom was a good size for the two of us, and the bathroom was lovely and spacious. Breakfast (included) was very good. Everything was homemade, and the pancakes were delicious. When we had early excursions, they kindly served it to us at 7:00 AM instead of 7:30 AM. Our water bottles were refilled whenever we requested it, and we requested if a lot! You can not do laundry at the guesthouse, but the laundry thet Mana recommended was wonderful. For 2,590 xpf, they washed, dried, and folded a 5 kg bag of laundry and returned it the same day. The free bikes were invaluable. One day, we cycled to Avotura via the Pearl Farm (excellent explanation in both French and English), Ikimisho Pearl Shop (highly recommended), and Chez Rua (great lagoon-side food shack). Another day, we took the bikes on the ferry to Tiputa and cycled around there. Our favorite excursion by far was DD's drift snorkeling. We ended up doing it 3 times! It was an excellent value for 6,000 xpf. We drifted down the Tiputa Pass 2 or 3 times, snorkeled in the aquarium, and got to swim with dolphins (the highlight!) The Blue Lagoon trip was good, too, but you have to pay cash if Mana books it for you. If you book it online, you can pay by credit card. We under-estimated how much cash we would need and had to bike to the ATM at the airport for more! We ate well at both Puna and Chez Lili. Cards are accepted if you spend a minimum of 2,500 xpf at Puna and 3,000 xpf at Chez Lili. Our favorite restaurant, however, was Reira Lagon, where Mana made reservations for us twice.
