Perfect stay with Thanasi, true Albanian hospitality. The restaurant and house are brand new and very clean. The power was out when we arrived due to a thunderstorm, but this didn’t matter at all, we had a delicious dinner prepared by cantle light, and some really nice chats. The bed was so comfy!

The owners are the kindest, most welcoming people, and we feel we’ve experienced a true authentic gem of Albania. You won’t find local atmosphere like this anywhere, surrounded by stunning nature and animals, while you enjoy a homecooked meal of homegrown ingredients. And we haven’t even mentioned the view. This was an unforgettable experience. We also highly recommend the planned trips the hosts offer, if you would like an authentic journey in the local area. This was such a heartfelt stay. A truly unforgettable stay! My husband and I had an amazing time during our stay. We enjoyed absolute peace and quiet, surrounded by endless greenery and right next to a historic site. The food, prepared by Gero, was absolutely delicious from traditional local dishes to his authentic pizzas, everything was full of flavor and made with care. But what truly made our experience special was the incredible team. Everyone was so kind and welcoming, and we definitely made new friends. A special mention goes to Agush ,unbelievably funny, full of energy, and truly the heart and soul of the hotel. He will forever have a special place in our hearts. We’ll definitely be back soon!

Run by the very friendly and hospitable Saimir, he always made sure I had my every need catered for. Provided a beautiful guest house just a couple minutes walk from the centre of Libohovë with a great view from the front deck. Very knowledgeable about the local history and gave me a tour free of charge around the town. Also gave me a number of fresh foods for breakfast such as local bread and an assortment of fruit, nuts, milk, eggs and jam all made from home. It was a perfect escape from the busier, more touristy towns and cities nearby, and recommend to anyone in the Gjirokaster area.

Travellers have places, moments, landscapes and, above all, people that you will always carry with you. In Vila Shametaj all of them are fulfilled. Lona, the location of the village and the Girokastra valley combine to form an explosive cocktail. We enjoyed our stay in the impeccable rooms, the breakfasts on the terrace are like a movie, and the owner is incredibly sweet. I will be back Lona.
