We liked this beautiful hotel and place very much. If in german schön mean nice or awesome, it is really nice. Quiet place, breathtaking views around, exceptional indoor-outdoor pool, the breakfast everything was awesome. Wish come back again next year, because we have August round trips to Alps every year. By the way, the Platzl restaurant 100 m away was also incredible.

Everything was perfect! The apartment was amazing, everything was clean, a spectacular view from the balcony and kitchen was very well equipped! The stuff was also very nice and very helpful and flexible with the check-in time. We didn’t miss anything during our trip!

The view from this accommodation was stunning. Mountains, trees, houses far away. In the night, all you hear was wind and river stream. Lots of nice hiking or climbing opportunities nearby, we had a car but even without a car it seemed not impossible to get around (by local bus). An hour drive and you get to pretty town of Innsbruck too. When we checked in online, sightseeing card for some local attractions for each one of us was offered for free.

A small village.

A small village. A small Spar supermarket provides basic necessities. The village shop sells nice souvenirs. There's also a sports shop. The local cable car takes you via a mid-station to the Schatzbergalm mountain pasture. There you can either have a meal or start a hike.

The walks around Auffach are superb, even for families with young children. The children, in particular, had a wonderful time at the Konditorei (a place to visit without hesitation).

It's great that you can use the gondola to Schatzberg as...

It's great that you can use the gondola to Schatzberg as often as you like for free with the guest card. There are some good restaurants in the village. Auffach is also within easy reach of many beautiful destinations for day trips.

A small but very pleasant ski resort in summer.

A small but very pleasant ski resort in summer. A car is absolutely essential for exploring Tyrol. However, you can stay at the Hotel Platzl for several days without needing a car: swimming pool, sauna, jacuzzi, cable car ride to the top of the mountain (accessible on foot), and hiking trails.

A nice little village with a ski lift, which is always a plus. Unfortunately, there's not much choice in terms of restaurants. Next time I visit, I think I'd go to Niederau, where there's also a lift in the summer and a few more amenities.

A small village nestled at the foot of the Schatzberg...

A small village nestled at the foot of the Schatzberg mountain, at the end of the valley. It features a wood museum with an informational trail, the Schatzberg cable car, and numerous accommodations with restaurants. Highly recommended: the farm shop with regional products and gifts, and the restaurant at the Hotel Platzl! Hourly bus service.

Excellent experience!!!! The host has taken care of everthing, even much more the necessities.The host is very friendly, supportive and responsive. The location is excellent and there are lot of activities nearby, which are free on Wildschonau card (card is free with the booking). I strongly recommend this place to all, especially the families! Special thanks to the host for making our stay very comfortable and pleasant.

Its one of the best stays we ever had, starting from the cozy apartment on top of the mountain to its amazing view , the hotel itself is a tourist spot. Cherry on top was its amazing hospitality. We were allowed to check in earlier as the room was ready. We were given tips as well to explore the place perfectly. The kind behavior of the hotel people will make you want to go there again and again.
