The hotel is in a beautiful historic building. One of the staff told me that it was more than 300 years old. The room was a good size and everything was supper clean. The room was decorated beautifully and the balcony overlooks into the gorgeous garden. The breakfast was served in the garden, which was really magical, and it had a very good selection of vegetarian food.

The hotel was great our family room was massive, very comfortable and clean with amazing views of the mountains. The staff were so friendly and helpful on the front desk, in the restaurant and at the bar. The spa and pool facilities were great and the kids loved the pool and so nice that it is still warm when outside in the cold.

Personable and friendly staff who were always helpful. Quiet location (in a village) and only 15 minutes on the bus to Salzburg centre. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance. Lovely breakfast, super comfortable bed, spacious spa area with 4 different spa types and areas to relax. Absolutely spotlessly clean, the owners (family owned) obviously take a great deal of pride in making sure everything is perfect for their guests. Great place to stay, would highly recommend.

Really Small luxury Hotel - in the heart of the city, on an ancient street in an ancient authentic building, but at the same time with an amazing designer renovation, comfortable beds and generous space - this hotel is our love. The staff is fantastically helpful and friendly. Ulrika is simply charming. The hotel has one of the best Austrian cuisine restaurants in the city. The guys from the restaurant are just top-notch professionals. We really felt like we were being taken care of.

The 180 degree view from the Gasthof Maria Plain hotel terrace, and from the balcony of room #20 which we had, captures sweeping pastoral greenery in the foreground, behind which is the city of Salzburg with the iconic fortress on the berg, back-dropped by the soaring Austrian Alps.     The hotel is like staying in an art museum. Full of vintage furniture and loads of beautiful portraits. The location is superb, with breathtaking views. Super quiet and peaceful. The food in the restaurant was delicious and the staff very nice. Breakfast was good. They make you eggs on the moment if you want which is a plus.

    Very nice hotel, lovely location close to Salzburg. 15 min drive by 1 bus. Lovely size of the room and the bathroom. Traditional and lovely family establishment. Enjoyed the back garden especially in the hot weather. Great choice for breakfast, could not fault it.

    Great location at the end of a country lane on a hillside overlooking Salzburg. Their own restaurant was a great place for dinner. It is possible to walk into Salzburg from the hotel, or drive halfway and then just walk the 'flat' part of the route.

    The Hotel is a bit outside the city but there is the bus stop to the center just in front of the Hotel. The room is comfortable enough even if the furniture is a bit old and the breakfast good and rich. The staff is efficient but not much friendly

    I think as a three star hotel it is okay, although you can’t expect too much. We stayed there for one night, followed by traveling to Hallstats.breakfast is better than I thought.
