We had exceptional customer service even before we arrived at Hotel Alexanderhof as we were offered a cold dinner as we weren't going to arrive until after the end of dinner serving. We were welcomed by Lucas who was friendly and informative. The room was comfy with amazing views, the buffet breakfast was vast and delicious. The pool, whirlpool and sunbathing lawn an added bonus. All staff were friendly. The decor felt very Austrian, which we appreciated as visitors from the UK, the whole experience was exceptional, we were sad to leave

B&B, very clean. Plenty of parking space. Room is simple, but has everything you need. Balcony with mountain view. Bed is very comfortable, we slept really well. Breakfast has choices of cheeses, cold cuts, breads, good coffee and eggs made to order. Mine came with the best bacon ever! The best part of our short stay were the host, Nienke and René, a Dutch couple who moved here four years ago. They made us feel like at home! Long chatting made us friends in one day! They don't come very often like this, so if you are in Spittal / Milstätter See area, I recommend you stay with them, you won't be sorry.

The staff was great and the room was very comfortable. Fast wi-fi and slippers and robe in the room. Parking was free and just outside the hotel. There is no elevator if you are on upper floors. Short walk to the abbey which is now an arts center and to the local beach although you could swim in the lake right from the hotel property.

Millstatt is a beautiful wilderness with plenty of sporting and other opportunities. We really enjoyed the bicycle ride around the lake, the hike to the Garnet Gate, the sup in the deep and clear Millstatt lake.

Millstatt is a very nice area.

Millstatt is a very nice area. I think especially in summer it is nice. In winter (which is when we were there) it is not so crowded. The location is well situated between several ski area's all within 20-40 min driving distance

A stay in Millstatt am See is not "just" a holiday by the lake. Thanks to its location, Millstatt offers access to a wide range of outdoor sports, such as cycling (road and mountain biking), stand-up paddleboarding, hiking, mountaineering, via ferrata, skiing (in winter), ice skating (in winter), walking, and swimming. Perfect for an adventure holiday ;)

The lake is beautifully situated amidst the mountains.

The lake is beautifully situated amidst the mountains. Unfortunately, there isn't a proper lakeside promenade, at least not in Millstatt. The hotels are built right up to the water's edge, so you can only walk along the water for very short stretches. The hike up to the Granattor (Garnet Gate) from the Lammersdorfer Hütte was fantastic. We didn't do much else, as we only spent two nights there while passing through.

Millstatt is a small village with not much to do.

Millstatt is a small village with not much to do. It does have a few restaurants, and you won't go hungry, but it wasn't great. It's nice for water sports enthusiasts, though. The boat tour on the lake is also enjoyable.

The apartment is very old, about 30 years old, the equipment corresponds to it.The smallest shower in which I have seen. The mountain view is a jungle view. There's no other view of the lake because you have to lean a lot from the toilet. The condo is high above the lake,the hike up the steep hill takes about 40min. Nothing for an overnight stay. Very disappointing.
