wonderful little village next to Innsbruck, very scenic, however careful with the transportation. Barely got a hold of a taxi number, and no bolt or uber available. bus transfer to Innsbruck is very good, takes around half of hour. the hotel has a lot, for how big it is. pool, saunas, spa area. also, the restaurant was very good, would recommend. we were able to pay by card in the hotel, but bring cash, as if needed, the first atm machine might be in the next village. all in all, we really enjoyed. very good breakfast also. we had an apartment with 2 bedrooms, and it was fully stocked. shower, no tub, hair drier, and a small fridge in one of the rooms.we did the nordkette trail, 6 hours in the alps, it was amazing. bus can take you there to start the trail, takes about 40-50 minutes to get to the start point (as 2 busses might have to be taken), but we had a car. the place is really a good compromise if you want something fancy, but not in the city.

Tulfes is a hidden gem to get away from it all.

Tulfes is a hidden gem to get away from it all. Not far from Innsbruck, so you can easily go for a day in that lovely city, but far enough away and up the mountainside to feel completely out of the rat race. The village itself has a few restaurants and the odd bar/shop but not much else. There is a Spar supermarket and fuel 5 mins away by car in the next village. The views on a clear day are just unbelievable - and I say this as a Scot who is no stranger to the Scottish mountains! Tip on the restaurants if you require gluten free - they're not great I'm afraid. Very few options. If you dont speak German its a bit tricky as most places dont have translated menus or websites, so you either have to speak German or hope you find someone who speaks your language... Tulfes has a superb cable car that takes you a good way up one of the mountains, but the last 650m ascent is up to you! There is a fantastic woodland adventure at the first station (the cable car to the top is in two sections) where kids can hire a 'kugel' (wooden ball) to run down fixed or build-your-own wooden runs. €10 each but €8 refunded on return of the kugel, so thats €2 each for hours of healthy fun, away from screens, in fresh mountain air.

Friendly hotel mostly occupied by hikers and people that appreciate quiet. We stayed here for one night in transit. It was not cheap - if you search you could find better value for money but overall this was a good place to stay. The pool is very nice with a great view of the mountains. For dinner we had to go in town - in the village there was not a lot of choice but Innsbruck is just 30 mins drive down the mountain. I would recommend for hikers and mountain bikers

1. Location of the hotel is in the incredible place, I’m in love with and I definitely could say that I will come back 2. Daniela(host) was so nice and helpful :) 3. Another point to mention is how clean were the rooms and the entire hotel’s property 4. Breakfasts were so fresh and yummy, seems like it was from farm products with fresh bread/waffles everyday, also you find some salmon, vegetables 🥗

This is such a lovely, family-run hotel. It was clear that over the many years the family had run it they had really worked out what their guests needed. We were made to feel so welcome. We enjoyed the lovely, immaculately clean swimming pool. An amazing breakfast with such a wide selection. Spacious rooms. And a bus stop to Innsbruck right outside the door making it very easy without a car.
