The owner arranged everything at very short notice late at night as many of the family members had travelled from various locations within both Victoria and NSW.
Nothing was any trouble and the owners communication was prompt, polite and very compassionate towards our circumstances.
This morning I met the cleaning staff and again nothing was any trouble and they were very polite, considerate and compassionate towards me in relation to our circumstances.

Very clean and well-maintained.
Comfortable bed.

It was a good a good base for two nights (we booked an extra night) because it is easy drive to Halls Gap to walk in the Grampians and also tour around the area. Local interesting history, being the JWard prison and Ararat Lunatic Asylum - both worth a visit. Town centre has ample cafes and restaurants to suit all tastes, and shopping to suit all interests. Easy to walk around the town, restaurants within easy walk. The Alexandra Gardens were beautiful to wander around and with a cafe as well. The Chinese heritage building was worth a visit with kids, they tried gold panning, dressed up and wrote their names in calligraphy while learning a little bit about the history of the town. They were currently in the middle of a renovation when we stayed, but that didn’t bother us. We were in a newly renovated room and it was really good. Nicely done, great bathroom, good amenities and the service was good too. The location is great because it’s a two minute walk from the main street with good local shops and restaurants.
