Host was very friendly and allowed us to check in an hour early. Fantastic views from the decking. A few minutes walk from the famous Bicheno Blowhole. Cabin is well equipped, comfy bed, powerful shower and host has left all sorts of items in cabin to make the stay more comfortable. Great price too. Would go back.

Perfect place for vacation. Excellent location. Amazing Bicheno. Wonderful dream vacation. If only I knew before how nice is this place I would stay there during all vacation in Tasmania. Supermarket very close. A lot of nice cafes and coffee places. Delicious Lobster Shack 7 min walk from Gaol House Cottages.

    We visited the Devils in the Dark show. Brilliant! Viewing feeding the Tasmanian Devils over wine and cheese. Great dinner at Sealife Restaurant and Cafe. Comfortable stay at Bicheno on the Bay. Penguin chick under our deck was noisy but so exciting to see. Blowhole and beaches are stunning.

    Bicheno was a great base to explore the area.

    Bicheno was a great base to explore the area. We were sad we did not see any penguins. We had take away fish and chips at Tasmanian Coastal Seafoods which was beautifully cooked and delicious! We also had dinner at Le Coq and wow, was the most amazing piece of steak that melted in your mouth.

    Stayed at Beachfront which was great value for money,...

    Stayed at Beachfront which was great value for money, central location, within walking distance to most attractions. We ate at Food & Brew for lunch & the iconic Lobster Shack for dinner, with some afternoon beers at the newly opened Bicheno Beer Co cellar door. The blowhole is a short walk or easily accessible by a short car drive. Beautiful seaside town with lots to offer, definitely recommend staying a night or two.

    Coastal walks were superb.

    Coastal walks were superb. We could see the lookout on the hill but had great difficulty in finding information about it & easy access - a wasted opportunity for new visitors to the area as once up there the views were fabulous.

    I must admit that when I saw the property I was very disappointed .advertised as a lake view on the bay,It was a mediocre motel at best and the lake was a dirty children’s play pool really but dirty and I would never have let any children of mine anyway near it.

    Bicheno was very enjoyable and a great location to stay a few nights and enjoy the surrounds. Well located to do day trips north or south along the east coast. Enjoyed the Penguin Tour. Very scenic location.

    We arrived early but were happy that the room was ready. The property was a small but adequate self contained unit on the owners property. It had its own access with a balcony overlooking the ocean. Whilst the only cooking facilities were toaster and microwave this was all you needed. The Bicheno blowhole was at the end of the street. All in all we had a most enjoyable stay.

    This place was fantastic! Beautiful cabin, great facilities on ground (tennis, kids canoes, park) spacious and self contained. You couldn't beat location either a short stroll to town, bicheno blowhole and coastal walk and lookout.

    Have stayed in this accomodation a few times now on trips to Tasmania. Would recommend staying here. Clean & comfortable, staff are nice & helpfulful. Kids enjoyed the pool & the closeness to the beach is lovely.
