Beautiful little place, especially for boating and fishing...
Beautiful little place, especially for boating and fishing activities. We only ate at the pub associated with Hinchinbrook Resorts where we stayed and we couldn’t fault the service or the food. We did a 3 hour sunset boat trip with Lockie of North Queensland Island Charters, around the western and southern sides of Hinchinbrook, which was fantastic, the water was like glass and the sunset as beautiful. We heard whales talking to each other from the ocean depths, just amazing. The only negative are the mosquitoes at nightfall - make sure you wear repellent! Fishing lodge for trailer boats accessing the estuary and Hinchinbrook Island. Motel units and cabins. Clean. Good condition. Nice lawns leading onto the estuary. Pool currently being upgraded. Friendly staff. General store. Good pub across the road and another pub in nearby Lucinda. We were tourists passing through and enjoyed our overnight stay. Clean and comfortable accommodation.
Clean and comfortable accommodation. Friendly, knowledgeable staff. Check in procedure was quite confusing as reception for the lodge is not located with the lodge, and closes early on Sundays!!
