If you are after a relaxing holiday destination, with a pleasant time strolling around shops and food options - Port Douglas is a good choice. Weekend markets in the area are a really cool morning activity. We really enjoyed the Lady Douglas boat tour, the Captain was informative of the area and very accommodating for Photographers. The Wildlife Habitat had some amazing experiences up close and personal and also the atmosphere and staff of the Tin Shed was always perfect for an evening out.Guest review byAmyNew Zealand - 10.0

It's peaceful and very laid-back; no one is in a hurry. The beaches are beautiful, as are the small islands in the reef. If you want to see the Great Barrier Reef, this is the best place to be! We went to Mosmon Gorge and did the trail, it was fantastic, we took a picnic and really enjoyed our selves. The beaches were fabulous, the shopping great. I can't say there was nothing I disliked about Port Douglas.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0
Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit.
Loads of beautiful restaurants, shops and places to visit. Greta spot to have as a base to visit surrounding areas. People were all really nice and helpful. We ate at Jungle Fowl awesome food, Tin Shed was great place to meet up with friends to enjoy the waterfront and the food was lovely, and Han Court Chinese was scrumptious. We did day trips to Cairns to catch boat to Fitzroy Island and enjoyed lunch there, had an amazing dinner at Coco's Kitchen in Cairns that night we both had a Lobster that was superb. Caught the train from Freshwater Station to Kuranda for the day, we paid for Gold Class which served great local food and drinks, fab trip up and back. Walking distance to everything, easy to get around, plenty of choices for places to eat as well as a great Cole's supermarket. You can be as busy or as relaxed as you want to be. A road trip to Daintree, Cape Tribulation and the Wildlife Discovery Centre is easily done in a day. A boat trip up the Dickson Inlet is a fun and informative thing to do. Bar set up screen/TV for everyone to enjoy. Able to get takeaway coffees downstairs in morning at cafe. Games area is a great idea & quiet sitting areas located around resort. We used these zones regularly. Free fish feeding for kids. Torches being lit in garden at night are a nice touch. Reception staff very helpful. She is a wealth of knowledge and has fantastic recommendations for anything you wish to experience while in Port Douglas. The apartments are really comfortable and the facilities are great, including the pool area and laundry. Location is also great, a little walk into town, and the nearest beach is only a few minutes. Location is great as just down from marina and across the road from an entry point of 4 mile beach. Everything could be walked to in 10-20min, we had a car which helped as I wouldn’t recommend if you needed to walk with groceries, Woolys might be too far.
