Upon arrival, my first impression was “what an awesome place”. Delightfully, it was one of those rare occasions when a first impression was accurate. Following the usual formality of registration and advised which room had been allotted to me, my first impression of the outside continued upon opening the room’s entrance. You were met with an exceptionally spacious room, very tastefully furnished, which included a sofa, table and chairs, a work bench and large comfortable bed. It also had large windows allowing for fabulous observations of visiting Galahs and Sulphur Crested Cockatoos as interested in knowing who was watching them as they of you. The bathroom was sufficiently large and lacked nothing, including daily replacements of toiletries. The only (perhaps very pedantic) issue was the location of the shower head which for a tall person such as me, required some knee squats to wash head and hair. The towels, however, were actually longer than me. Did not have a guest laundry but was very kindly permitted to use the Motels own laundry facilities. Located a little way from the town centre, requiring a five-minute drive (or twenty-minute walk). Excellent free Wi-Fi.

Nice easy electronic check in . Walking distance to main Street, right next to show ground. Room was great lovely and spacious very clean and would be ideal for a long stay full size refrigerator full size kitchen sink bath tub if traveling with children. Queanbeyan Park is a nice little park in spring. Streets are lined with white blossom trees in spring. Monthly markets with local businesses selling own gin, homemade cakes, woolen garmets, flowers etc was a bonus find on my weekend.

Good access to airport and Canberra central via Canberra ave(10 -15 mins) traffic flows well for Canberra, but once you are in the CBD slows to snail pace. Parking at motel was good, parking in Canberra was also good but expensive. You can see most of the tourist sites in Canberra from this motel within 1/2 hr, we saw most of them within 4 days. If you are a cafe, wine-bar or restaurant and night-life lover then book in the CBD, it has these in spades. As older travellers we like to see museums, art galleries,botanical gardens, zoos etc, so this nearby location was great.

Fairy quiet town. Good mix of amenities. Short commute to the capital. Lots of parks for kids to play at. Shopping is a good mix available. Easy to get around. Parking near all the shops. Eateries galore in main street. Have tried Cathay Chinese , Royal Turban Indian on previous trips and both are great. The theatre is central to town check it out

Queanbeyan is on the outskirts of Canberra, with supermarkets and other shops. It is ideally located just 10-15 min drive into the Canberra CBD meaning accommodation is a bit cheaper and usually with free parking when compared to a CBD hotel.

If you're looking for a great place to dine, my husband and I thoroughly recommend Punjabi Hut, an Indian restaurant in Crawford St, one of the main streets in town. They are open for dinner from 5pm, the service is tremendous and the cuisine is a delight.

This is my second stay at the Country Plaza Motel. It has that degree above the usual motels. The furnishings are of another era and so well looked after, the room is clean and the bed oh so comfortable. The bathroom is fastidiously clean and well appointed. Quiet location. Queanbeyan can be cold so reverse cycle air con and electric blanket made for a cosy room. I will definitely go back as the added bonus it is the perfect location for my trip to Queanbeyan.

I travel to Queanbeyan/Canberra fortnightly, my regular hotel was booked out, so I decided to try out the Grand motor inn, great decision I made. Brilliant location, short 5 minute walk to the local club, shops, takeaways ect. Very homely rooms, nice and quiet, spacious. Couldn’t ask for much more for the money. Added bonus was the bath tub.

Comfortable bed wanted to take it home. Good sized room, convenient parking. A bit out of town but close enough, the closest pub 50 mts away, didn't look the best, tried it on the last night a hive if activity darts, trivia and great food and beers. Excellent access to Canberra.
