A very interesting and multi-cultural town with a diverse range of restaurants, cafes, supermarkets and shops, a very large country town that also hosts a wonderful flower show mid-September. Also an amazing new airport just out of town called Wellcamp indicates this is an elevated - go ahead - rural town with some lovely real estate features, great schools and landmark views over the Lockyer Valley. In fact the other "table land towns" Dalby, Warwick, Stanthorpe and many. many more provide a great insight into rural Australia. Such a pretty city the parks are indescribably beautiful. Plenty to do plenty to explore. Don't miss the art gallery and its collections. We travel to Toowoomba each year for the annual Carnival of Flowers. Our hotel was easy walking distance to the gardens. Always a lovely experience to see the flowers in bloom, and our visits include Queen's Park, the Markets nearby and also Laurel Bank Park is a must for the tulips. Toowoomba is a great destination for a short getaway in Spring. The lead up to the Carnival of Flowers a perfect time to visit as the gardens are blooming and it is before the crowds. Queens Park, Picnic Point, Laurel Bank Park and Japanese Gardens are all in full bloom. A visit to Highfields and The Chocolate Shop was worth the short drive north. Lovely staff, tasty food and home made chocolate plus specialty shops on the green. Time to indulge. Back to the Ambassador hotel via Picnic Point and afternoon tea at the Restaurant looking out over the treetops then a visit to the Range Antiques.Guest review byGrogan - 8.0

This trip was a stopover after medical appointments within the City, and choosing to stay so close to the Grand Central Shopping Centre was an added bonus. Toowoomba has a lot to offer visitors and tourists alike, but not for us this time around, as shopping was on top of our list, and we were not diappointed with the variety of quality stores in the City.Guest review byDonnaAustralia

Well appointed little kitchenette area with a microwave, little cook top/oven and fridge. Bathroom had a shower and necessary toiletries in pump containers. We requested a quiet room and they kindly placed us at the back of the motel, set away from the main road. The motel is set in a beautiful and quiet neighbourhood. The cost per night was excellent compared to many other similar motels. Walking distance to the local hotel where we enjoyed a delicious meal. It is more akin to an old school boarding house (but with cleaner sheets) The staff and other patrons I met were all friendly. Please do not expect it to be like a Hotel, if you do, you may be disappointed. It is run by a Buddhist organization that assists immigrants to become valued members of the Toowoomba Community.
