The hotel has lovely staff and a fantastic location, and we got a pleasant surprise for our birthday. Public transport is within walking distance, and one thing that really will remind us about the hotel is the fragrance of Atelier Rebul everywhere.

FAQs about hotels in Brussels

Chocolate Capital of Europe

Brussels is well-known as the headquarters of many European institutions and is often called the capital of Europe. However, Belgian waffles, beer and chocolate are just a few of the city’s best-known delicacies that can rival its political reputation.

French and Dutch are city’s two official languages so all streets and landmarks have two different names: don’t be surprised when you look for Grand Place and end up on Grote Markt!

Don’t miss the famous bronze statue aptly named Manneken Pis or the futuristic Atomium, a truly unique architectural creation. Wandering through side streets to discover small bookshops, romantic cafés and ethnic restaurants reveals Brussel's charm.

Brussels is a real melting pot of Europe, filled with great museums and art from Memling, Bosch or Rubens, historic breweries and great concert halls. Shopping addicts can visit the world’s first shopping mall, the Saint Hubert Gallery, opened here in 1847.

If you’re arriving at Brussels Airport or South Charleroi Airport, all major attractions are just a short train or bus ride away. Whether you’re looking for a design hotel, a comfortable apartment or a friendly B&B, Booking.com has something perfect for your Brussels trip.

Brussels is a very cultured and cosmopolitan city.

Brussels is a very cultured and cosmopolitan city. Everyone I spoke with before the trip had recommended that I spend time in the central area, but then to make sure to branch out to some of the other cities in Belgium, such as Bruges, Antwerp or even perhaps Luxembourg... I understand now much better what they were trying to say, as it is a "2 day city" that you can use as a mid stop tour or a jumping off spot to move onto other cities. With that said, I was pleasantly surprised by the amount of musical talent that I stumbled across, with 2 great live jazz type music performances in 2 separate venues - Che Habana Cafe - https://chehabana.com and Toots Jazz Club - https://www.toots.brussels/en, along with a great meal at The Lobster House - https://www.thelobsterhouse.be/?lang=en. I highly recommend Brussels as an easy city with a great culture to spend 2-3 days in, and will keep it on my list as a brilliant spot for in between Amsterdam/Paris runs in the future...

Brussels turned out to be much more interesting than I had anticipated. Must be a lot of wealthy people there judging by the vast amount of upscale shopping . We took a walking tour and that was very much worthwhile as we saw and learned a lot on that.. Chocolates to take home as gifts were half the price they charge in London. Found an excellent street (Rue Jourdan, St-Gilles) near our hotel with good selection of Restaurants for evenings.

As Belgium's capital, Brussels is a bustling hub of business...

As Belgium's capital, Brussels is a bustling hub of business and culture. Over the course of our weekend stay, we found that there was plenty to keep a range of visitors interested, from the historic Grand Place to the Atomium, and numerous museums featuring art and even the history of fries. The city also hosts an expansive selection of good restaurants. In the centre of town, be sure to check out The Blue - a restaurant that features a number of Belgian classics including a fantastic Flemish stew. Outside of the historic quarter, Restaurant La Plume is a particular highlight that blends regional favourites with Turkish influences, and is well worth a trip to the Botanique region. Those looking for a city with traditional beauty, however, should look elsewhere. Brussels is an eclectic hodge-podge that resembles a city that has gone through an architectural blender. Constant construction and horrible 60-70s style buildings threaten to overshadow its nicer parts, giving the city an unmistakable edge. This jumble of styles won't be to everyone's taste, and should be considered before visiting.

I like the quality of things in general in Belgium.

I like the quality of things in general in Belgium. There are a lot of things to do, a lot of good places to eat and drink and a lot of fun evenings ahead. I would not recommend the city to families with kids, but more to friends, couples or even solo travellers. There are areas where you should not go at night if you want to feel safe, but you can easily avoid them
