I was almost put off by the negative reviews of this hotel online, but am so happy that I wasn't. It's true that the place is a bit tired, but it is a solid 7 or 8, not 1 in any case! Lack of options in Panagyurishte made me think twice before booking this place, and in the meantime all cheap rooms were gone, leaving me only with the apartment. As it is only BGN50 more expensive than the rest of the rooms, I thought it is a fair deal. It ended up being not an apartment but a fairly large studio on the top floor, facing the main town square and the Apriltsi monument, complete with a single round terrace on the building facade, tucked under the pitched roof. It felt incredibly private, and as this is also the most centrally located hotel in Panagyurishte, it also felt like the most prime seat in the whole town to enjoy a glass of wine in the evening. The terrace got good use! There is also a restaurant in the building ground floor, facing the main square which I thought was quite good. Service there was impeccable!

Nice clean apartment, easy to find and shops local. The owner is very helpful and stayed awake to pass over the keys, even though we arrived quite late.

    The main reason to visit is to see the absolutely...

    The main reason to visit is to see the absolutely spectacular Tracian gold treasure when it is exhibited in the vault of the local history museum (once a year for a month, usually September - October). For those who know more of the turbulent Bulgarian history there is a wealth of other museums and historical places of interest too. A lot of the restaurants are of above-average quality too. We tried The Old House and Perfecto. Both were excellent with very attentive service. The Old Miners' Club Hotel in the town centre has a fine lobby bar too.
