The region is beautiful. I've known it for over three decades; it's practically my second home. It has an unmistakable vibe, lots of nature, great restaurants, little shops—in short, everything for a wonderful experience.

The city is very beautiful and charming.

The city is very beautiful and charming. Good restaurants and places to buy souvenirs. A great getaway for weekends and holidays. In winter, it's a highlight for eating fondue and drinking wine; in summer, it's great for enjoying nature.

Wonderful location, mild and pleasant climate, good...

Wonderful location, mild and pleasant climate, good adventure routes, good restaurants, various accommodation options for all budgets. Negative points: the final stretch of the mountain road between Capelinha and Visconde de Mauá has very poor asphalt and no lighting. The restaurants close too early for a tourist area.

Bocaina de Minas (Mirantão district of Bocaina) is a small place with few food options, but some excellent ones. It's a quiet village, and the locals aren't very welcoming, so don't be surprised. The road can be problematic during heavy rain, but overall it's manageable.

It's a charming place, with lots of preserved nature, rivers with crystal-clear water, and many waterfalls and trails! Restaurants of all kinds (it's the region for trout and pine nuts), daytime and nightlife... don't miss it, an unforgettable trip.

The best thing about Bocaina de Minas is its proximity to...

The best thing about Bocaina de Minas is its proximity to other idyllic places, like the waterfalls. In Santo Antônio do Rio Grande there's a restaurant run by Cida. Great food, they have dulce de leche next to the church which is very good, and at the Paiol farm they have delicious cheese and biscuits.
