I loved the kindness and helpfulness of the Iapoque staff.

I loved the kindness and helpfulness of the Iapoque staff. We had several professional contacts, and even at the places where we were served—shops, restaurants, boats—they were very welcoming. We enjoyed the Gaucho restaurant and the Rodeio.

Oiapoque is a truly unique destination: the river, the pirogue operators, the taxis, the small shops where you can find everything, the lively evenings, lots of music, the good food, superb hikes on the river, waterfalls, etc., and as a bonus, the unparalleled kindness of the Brazilians.

A city where not all roads are paved, there's a risk of dust...

A city where not all roads are paved, there's a risk of dust, and during dry periods, the sun is scorching, leading to price increases. Getting around is very easy by car, motorcycle, or taxi. There's a wide variety of restaurants to choose from. Overall, it's a city worth exploring.
