By day, view the falls from the riverfront promenade, or for an up-close-and-personal experience, the Hornblower Niagara Cruise takes you right into the swell. Rain ponchos are provided. Alternatively, there’s the Journey Behind the Falls – a walk through the rock behind Niagara. Handy portholes help you to experience the thundering water.
Slightly downstream are the American Falls, less well-known and less impressive, but worth a look. At night, both falls get illuminated by coloured lights – an incredible sight. Further downstream is the Rainbow Bridge which you can walk across to get an American stamp in your passport. Just check your visa requirements first.
The city itself has 7 golf courses – one is close to the river, so be careful with your swing! Other Niagara Falls attractions include casinos, cinemas and Marineland Canada, featuring the world's largest whale habitat for viewing orcas both above ground and below.

We had no idea what to expect so we weren,t sure what to wear etc..we bought rain coats not knowing they supplied rain ponchos...there was alot of walking we weren,t made aware of which made that part of the tour very challenging as my husband is disabled. once we were on the boat which is only about 1/2 hour of the 3 and a half hour tour we were okay. My visit to Niagara Falls was an unforgettable experience — the natural beauty and sheer power of the falls were truly breathtaking, especially at night when the lights illuminated the water. Staying at the Sheraton Fallsview Hotel made the trip even better. The room offered a spectacular view of both the American and Horseshoe Falls, and it was amazing to wake up to that scenery each morning. The staff were friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and comfortable, and the location was perfect — just a short walk to Clifton Hill, restaurants, and attractions. I've been visiting Niagara Falls a few times a year for over 3 decades. While it has so much to offer in the natural wonder, everything else has become disappointing. It's just a giant $$$ grab. They have altered the road that runs along the falls so there's no chance to even hesitate to enjoy the beauty. You are forced to pay ridiculous rates for parking that can be over a mile away. $30 to $50, depending on the season, is insane!Guest review byAlexUnited States
