We had a wonderful time here. The apartment is spacious, clean, and well-maintained. The location is stunning, perched on top of a mountain. In the summer, it’s pleasantly cool up there, while the valley below was quite hot. The owner is very nice and always willing to help or think along if you have a small request. For Swiss standards, it’s also reasonably priced.

The few days we spent at Grandhotel Giessbach were truly like a dream. The hotel’s stunning natural scenery, historical architecture, and peaceful atmosphere captivated us from the very first moment. Everything was thoughtfully planned and flawless. However, one of the most important details that made our stay so special was meeting Kris Jungo, who works at the Front Office. Kris was incredibly attentive, friendly, and helpful throughout our stay. He made us feel right at home. He patiently answered all our questions and enhanced our vacation with his recommendations, making it much more enjoyable. Kris’s professionalism and warmth were a wonderful reflection of Grandhotel Giessbach’s quality. Staying at this hotel is not only a peaceful getaway but also an opportunity to meet wonderful people. We wholeheartedly thank the Grandhotel Giessbach team, and especially Kris, for this amazing experience. Hoping to see you again soon!

Beautiful location in the lakeside. Very characterful architecture in Swiss chalet style. Very helpful and welcoming staff throughout and even the owners had time to talk despite their busy days. Very well arranged outside restaurant terrace to eat with the staff adjusting the sunshade umbrellas to keep the sun off our faces during dinner. Excellent quality dinner of fresh local fish cooked by the Owner chef....delicious!!. Very comfortable and spacious bedroom with huge balcony overlooking the lake. Clean and very well equipped bedroom and ensuite. Good spacious carpark.

We loved everything about the hotel. First thing to know — it is located on the first station Bort of the same gondola that goes up to the First. The biggest advantage of the hotel's location is that it has a direct open view on Eiger and Grindelwald. You literally feel like a bird. The view from the window and a little area with loungers in front of our room were breathtaking. Literally, no words can describe this view. Staying at the hotel was already a gem of the trip. The breakfast was very nice. Everything was tasty, the restaurant interior is cozy. We loved it.

Excellent location, beautiful view.

Excellent location, beautiful view. Easy to pick up keys in a box. Well equipped kitchen, salt, pepper, oil and more. Welcome pasta to cook and coffee. Underfloor heating. Cowbells every morning instead of an alarm clock.

It is too far from Interlaken not having a view of the lake...

It is too far from Interlaken not having a view of the lake as pictures shown, it is located on the top of the mountain, it takes about 20 mn drive on an extremely narrow road to reach there. Not a single supermarket or restaurant nearby, it is recommended for people seeking tranquility and peace, not for those who plan to visit other places every day. a washing machine would be an advantage. I liked that it has Fondue maker and all what's needed to prepare some homemade meals.

Very nice location, great view of the lake and excellent...

Very nice location, great view of the lake and excellent walks. Be careful of the local drivers. In the 3 days we stayed at Axalp we were bullied by 4 very aggressive drivers on the mountain roads.

A family-friendly place in a wonderful location.

A family-friendly place in a wonderful location. Small but mighty! Fantastic ski slopes! Breathtaking views of Lake Brienz and the surrounding mountains. Unfortunately, there's no decent restaurant in the village itself, but there are three excellent ski-in/ski-out restaurants right on the slopes! Driving from Brienz is only recommended for experienced drivers; otherwise, take the post bus.

We liked the location of the accommodation with amazing views. Axalp is a nice village high on a hill, we drove our own car, we didn't look for restaurants. You can do hiking in the place, but we also chose famous places within a maximum of 1 hour (Shilthorn, Jungfraujoch), or within 30 minutes (Harder kulm, Rothornbahn, Reichenbašshé waterfalls - here Arthur Conan Doyle let Sherlock Holmes die).

It was a lovely short trip and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Space was important to us as a small group, and the accommodation was truly spacious, making us feel right at home. We highly recommend it. The view from the large balcony was idyllic, and it was wonderfully quiet in the evenings.

Absolutely charming and cozy appartment in a nice area where you have plenty of opportunities for outdoor activities. The hosts thought about anything to make your stay great- all the small things for a comfortable stay are included. The hosts are very welcoming and nice, and we appreciated their support during our visit. Thank you so much dear Jolanda and Nicolas for our great vacation in Axalp. We stayed at this beautiful apartment during our trip to Switzerland, I would only say that stay ws WONDERFUL. Apartment was very clean and located in top of the Axalp mountain and route to the apartment itself was filled with thrilling and beautiful views of Lake Brienz. Ruby at Reception was very helpful and kind.. I would totally recommend this property

The location is lovely in the lower part of Axalp village. We visited in summer and it's very quiet, and the scenery is beautiful. There's very little in the village itself, but that was exactly what we were looking for and expected. The property was stunningly clean and the staff were all lovely. Beautiful walks straight out of the property.
