The room was large and convenient with beautiful windows and a modern bathroom. The location was good as it was near grocery stores and plenty of restaurants. Our room was not on the main street but, if it were, the stay may have been less pleasant. The breakfast was good enough.

A great town with 3 castles to explore a great old town railway station walkable to old town. A town you can walk mostly but there are also buses. A number of restaurants and on a Saturday morning there is the market in the piazza

While Bellinzona is in Switzerland and a lovely train ride from Lucerne, you feel like you're in Italy. There are several medieval castles within walking distance to explore as well as great shopping and restaurants.

Bellinzona is a perfectly located central hub in the canton of Ticino. It is easily accessible from various directions and by multiple means of transport. For air travel, one convenient option is flying to Milan-Malpensa Airport, from which direct train connections take approximately two hours to reach Bellinzona. Another option is arriving via Mulhouse-Basel Airport and then traveling by train through the Gotthard Tunnel. The area around Bellinzona is also well-connected by highways from Italy and northern Switzerland, as well as by an efficient railway network. The city itself offers numerous sightseeing opportunities, with its three castles being a must-visit. Additionally, there are several lesser-known yet fascinating sites, such as the archaeologically significant Curzútt. Beyond Bellinzona, there are plenty of attractive destinations for day trips, including Lugano and the botanical garden on the Brissago Islands in Lake Maggiore. The city has a very welcoming and pleasant atmosphere. It embodies Swiss cleanliness while embracing an Italian way of life, offering excellent food and wine. The locals are warm and hospitable, making Bellinzona an inviting destination for travelers.

Bellinzona was so charming and a nice size, not too big or...

Bellinzona was so charming and a nice size, not too big or small. Lots of choices of restaurants, easy train and bus connections to the area. The castles are very scenic and interesting. We took a walking tour from the tourist information center, which was wonderful. We like less American tourist places and this fit the bill. The weekly market on Saturday morning was great too.

Bellinzona is the quiet enjoyable city of the canton of...

Bellinzona is the quiet enjoyable city of the canton of Ticino. It is a lovely little town (in fact the capital of Ticino) but it is away from the touristic towns such as Lugano, Locarno and Ascona (and therefore the prices) but close enough to travel to be able to spend time in those places as well, yet to return to base in the evening.

Walking to the castle’s was great.

Walking to the castle’s was great. I also did the train in another occasion. Shopping especially on Saturday at the market is great. Unfortunately when I returned after 3 weeks everything was closed on Sunday and Monday (a catholic holiday!) I liked Federale Croce for their great pizza’s and friendly staff

I think 2 brothers are new owners one offered me stop along the road for 110 CHf I pointed out I had steady paid. The hotel room was clean but with low children’s beds and a poorly organised but clean bathroom. I will never stay there again no breakfast just a strong black coffee offered. Could not wait to leave!

Well situated old hotel - ok for a short stay. Rooms are clean and room service staff is very friendly. Bed is comfortable. Size of the room is very correct. Breakfast is simple with no variety to choose (1 type of bread, croissant, juice, cheese) but fresh & well presented.

The hotel is perfectly situated opposite Bellinzona Station. The room was fine for one person and all the staff were very friendly. Breakfast was good and I have to say the coffee machine takes its time but serves a lovely Cappucino. I would happily stay there again.
