Easily enough to fill a couple of days prior to catching the train to Italy. Loved the open air pool, the cable car and the walk back to the city from the top of the mountain. Great stopover for joining the Bernina Express.
Great stopover for joining the Bernina Express. Old town easily reached and completely walkable. Shopping opportunities seemed good, but were closed on the public holiday while we were there. Eateries were mostly open and we had a great meal. Just a reminder, this is Switzerland and things are comparatively 'very expensive'. Quality is good though.Guest review byAJAustralia - 10.0

Lovely historic town, lots of lovely small shops and cafés, I really enjoyed walking through the old town. We visited the Catholic Church and the Reform Church, both are lovely buildings. I didn't have time to visit the museums, I would have really liked to do that. Unfortunately the cable car was closed as it only opens weekends, maybe we were a bit too early in the tourist season. Chur is well connected by train to eastern Switzerland and for us provided a base to visit St Gallen and St Moritz. Plenty of history with it being the oldest town in Switzerland and for us it was a good starting point for the Glacier Express. This is the oldest town in Switzerland and it is just charming. We really would have liked to stay longer to explore it more. It is close to the train station and to the center of town as well (which was very quiet in October). We had a room for three which was a bit cramped for floor space but the private sink was a welcome addition to the shared toilet/shower. Those shared facilities were all were surprisingly nice and never busy. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was very nice. It's a quiet neighborhood a little bit far away from the train station(need to walk around 10~15 minutes while pulling luggage). However we love the buildings and atmosphere when we walk in the alley to find the pictures on the wall, church, stores, and supermarket.
