We were delighted with our stay in Göschenen. The flat is comfortable, very well equipped. There were a lot of attention to details, the nice candles, the slippers, the breakfast items… accessing the sauna was an added bonus! The instructions were very clear, and the hosts gave lots of helpful suggestions about local restaurants. We all loved our stay and are considering going again.

First, I don’t usually give tens, but Hotel Gerig and their staff more than deserve it. They made our one-night stay exceptionally pleasant. Already at reception we immediately felt at home. When asked about a possible walk to take he went outside with us to show the way. Two other staff members were extremely nice to my 6-year old. The hotel is very nicely decorated with art and pictures all over. The restaurant has excellent evening food and breakfast and looks as welcoming as the rest. On top of that the bedroom was great! Easy to reach from Göschenen by bus (stop Wassen Dorf)

The staff were friendly and accomodating to us. They were flexible with check in times, allowing us to use their extra facilities and the owner Oliver drove me to Andermatt at 5 am in his van because the public transport had not started for the day.

No more than 90 minutes by car from Zurich airport and the same from Chur for Bernina and Glacier Expresses. 20 minutes from Andrematt and that it has to offer. Cute little town with a detailed history.

Cute little town with a detailed history. Get a copy of the walking tour and/or check out the museum at the train station for more information about the tunnels and bridges. Göschenen is a great place to stay if skiing in Andermatt and you want to be away from the crowds. It’s a quick drive or train ride away.

Ideal for an overnight stop on the way south.

Ideal for an overnight stop on the way south. Since work is currently underway on the second tube of the Gotthard Tunnel, parts of the town resembled one giant construction site. When we arrived there around 4 pm on Saturday, "the sidewalks were already rolled up" and we couldn't find anywhere to buy anything.

I'd never had the chance to see Göschenen properly. It was a lovely surprise. Don't worry, the few locals I met were very nice and welcoming. It's in the middle of the beautiful Swiss mountains. It's a shame we couldn't stay longer...

The hike around Lake Göscheneralp was absolutely beautiful. The deep blue water was truly impressive. It was a shame that the Dammagletscher restaurant by the lake was no longer open in such wonderful weather in mid-October.

Having stumbled upon a welcoming house with excellent cuisine, I was particularly looking for accommodation close to the train station due to my involvement in a large event for the Furka Steam Railway in Realp and the necessary train transfer.

The hotel is very very old fashioned but it was clean, the owner was extremely kind and helpful. The breakfast was enough, with enough selection. It's in the central but it was quiet during the night. The parking is next to the house, enough places for big cars also. The walking route with dogs starts 50 meters from the house. Perfect stay for one night and good value for the money compared to the extremely expensive Andermatt.

Is in the middle of nowhere and it's a true guesthouse! Don't go here if you're looking for a perfect hotel, but if you want to have a cosy place to stay: Don't look anyfurther. We travelled with our motorcycles, but arrived late (around 9PM). We did notify that we would be arriving late and if possible still liked dinner... When we arrived, table was ready and we had a nice evening!

Very friendly owner, who just wants the best for his guests. Breakfast was excellent, the beds were much better than expected! The family room was clean and quite big. And the surroundings: just WOW! If you're there, make sure to drive to Göscheneralpsee Staudamm: it's only a 10 minute drive from the hotel and the scenery is just STUNNING!
