This is simply an extraordinary location in the Alps! I spent 3 weeks touring on my motorcycle, and this was by far my highlight. This is a honest as you can get as a proper Swiss stay in the Alps. The bar, restaurant was just honest and original, fantastically good cold beers, and amazing food in large portions served piping hot. The rooms were authentically alpine acommodation, super comfortable and clean.

This is probably the most beautiful place in Switzerland we’ve been to. Very nice rooms with amazing views (even the mountain view), excellent breakfast, very kind personnel always helpful, many options for eating, all very good (especially the Titschli), lovely bar lounge with a wonderful pianoman singing in the evenings (thank you G D Angelo for the enchanting after dinner music), fabulous spa and very good kids spa too (enjoyable by parents as well), not to mention the incredible scenery surrounding the place, and really good ski school. Just an amazing place thank you all!

Amazing Hotel in Engelberg! We have enjoyed to the fullest our stay at Hotel Waldegg. The staff was extremely friendly and the provided service was fantastic. Every day we received a printed forecast for the next day mentioning the weather and what activities we could do. The Spa was great. There is one big swimming pool inside and a hot water tub outside on the terrace. The saunas were nice too. The Hotel is a little bit up on a hill, but you can easily reach it by bus or taxi. There is a bus stop just in front of the hotel. Breakfast was included in our booking and it was delicious. There was a buffet with lots of choice. Furthermore, you could also order additional hot meals from the menu as scrambled eggs, omelettes, etc. The staff in the breakfast room was very friendly as well. The hotel has also 2 restaurants, one for European cuisine and one Thai cuisine. We tried both of them and enjoyed our meals.

Melchtal has a cablecar and a road up to the plateau at...

Melchtal has a cablecar and a road up to the plateau at nearly 2000m with a lake Melchsee and a small church. There are many cows and cheese is made there. Surrounding the lake are glorious peaks up to 2600m and Tiflis and other 3000m mountains are in the distance. On the lower level at the bottom of the cable car are much closer craggy peaks and the delightful Waldhaus guesthouse with it’s excellent restaurant.

We arrived in June at a great time. Not busy.

We arrived in June at a great time. Not busy. Pleasant weather around 24 degrees. There is parking under the main building, elevators. We took a suite with a bedroom and an attic. With a kitchen and balconies. And a stunning view! The breakfast was reasonable and above all the smiling guy who took care of everything for us! The experience we left the place was excellent!

Fantastic stay!

Fantastic stay! We booked the apartment spontaneously and were extremely satisfied. The staff is helpful, friendly, generous, and welcoming. It has everything you could need: a fitness center, games room, indoor pool, sauna, etc. It's also close to the ski lift (about a 5-minute drive with a large parking lot). It was perfect!! We highly recommend it and would love to come back again!!
