Perfect in every way. The proprietors were very kind and looked after us well, amazing breakfast, good ski storage, waterproof mats for storing ski boots, comfy lounge area, good sized room with lovely balcony. We would definitely stay here again.

Relax and peace are the two words that best describe our stay at Lärchen Lodge. The owners are currently renovating the lodge, and both the restaurant and the hall are brand new and tastefully designed. Even the table setting is refined with beautiful cutlery. Our room was comfortable, with a lovely view of the mountains and the green landscape. To keep us company, a cow and her little calves were often grazing right in front of our window. The atmosphere is truly peaceful. The hosts are kind and welcoming people. To our surprise, the host is also an excellent chef. Breakfast included a good variety of options and delicious fresh bread. There’s a large private parking area, and the location is perfect for motorcyclists who plan to visit the famous mountain passes. We really enjoyed our stay here. You can clearly feel the hosts’ intention to build something meaningful and do their best every day. We wish you all the best – and thank you again!

After a long day touring on our motorbikes, the Hotel Furka offered a welcome refuge for the night. From the moment we walked in, we were made welcome. The hotel rooms were modern and very comfortable with an excellent shower in the ensuite. We were able to park our motorbikes safely in a locked garage and had a great dinner in the restaurant. Breakfast was included in the room price and was a continental buffet with warm fresh bread available. We awoke to a snow storm and were grateful our bikes were safely stored overnight.

Great hotel in the scenic Grimsel Pass area. Fabulous location for walking or visiting the Gelmerbahn. Bus stops at the door and it's only 1 hour from Meiringen. The terrace restaurant is nice for during the day or pre-dinner drinks. Food is outstanding especially considering the isolated location. Well done to the kitchen staff and chef.

This is a very special place to stay and I highly recommend it. Probably one of the best places I have ever stayed at. The staff were all so friendly and helpful. The rooms are beautiful and (needless to say) the views are stunning. I particularly liked the sauna space which you book out for exclusive use, which was so relaxing. The food was fantastic - we went for the local dishes (including a locally-made aperitif) and we were so impressed, from beginning to end. Having breakfast outside was another bonus (and the breakfast buffet choices are fantastic). What an exceptional place. Can't wait to go back!

A small village that perfectly captures the tranquility of the Swiss mountains. If you're looking for peace and quiet in Switzerland, this is a great option. For car and motorcycle enthusiasts, the Furka Pass, Susten Pass, and Grimsel Pass are conveniently close by, as is the natural phenomenon of the Aletsch Gleischer.

The climate and landscape possess a unique alpine charm.

The climate and landscape possess a unique alpine charm. Oberwald can serve as a base for motorcycle tours over the surrounding Alpine passes, as well as for leisurely to challenging hikes. Oberwald is not yet as touristically oriented as the villages further down the valley.

The entire Goms region is very beautiful – and we especially liked Oberwald – Hotel Tannenhof – a highly recommended bed and breakfast – right next to the VOLG supermarket – bus stop in front of the hotel – simply superb!!! Martin & Sylvia Bohren-Andres – Spiez

We were visiting the Furka Pass steam railway, and the hotel is conveniently situated for access to Oberwald station. Our comfortable room faced the woods and hill behind the hotel and had a spacious balcony overlooking the children's play area. We didn't use the balcony since there was several inches of snow on the night of our arrival, but it would be delightful in summer. The staff were exceptionally welcoming.

Good hotel in a quiet location with lovely staff. Ideal for walkers, cyclists, and motorcyclists with a locked dry garage. Good breakfast and dinner in the restaurant/bar (slightly limited menu). Great location, next to the best mountain passes, even a sauna, but it's not a late night party area.
