An amazing host Lise - a very helpful, knowlegable and friendly person with who I had a very intersting conversation. I would honestly recomend this BnB to anyone. The staff were so friendly and welcoming when we arrived. We had a delicious fresh breakfast each morning. The staff were also very helpful in recommending things for us to do. The hotel is right beside the train station. There are lots of wonderful activities to engage in in the area, lovely hiking trails and cable cars to viewpoints.

The owner(Robert) came to pick us up from the train station and he is very friendly. Hotel is near to the Appenzell train station(600m) We got an early check-in and late check-out. Delicious breakfast buffet. Spacious bathroom with a bath tub. Large balcony with a beatifull city view.

    Visiting Santis was the best part of visiting Urnäsch.

    Visiting Santis was the best part of visiting Urnäsch. It is a must see. Have awesome views from the summit and also learnt quite a lot about weather and weather measurement. I really enjoyed traditional swiss dishes for my lunch at Santis Terrace Hotel and dinner at Restaurant Lowen in Urnäsch. Urnäsch can be comfortably reached by train from Zurich. There is public transport bus 791 from Urnäsch Bahnhof to Santis Cable Car Station. There are lots of hiking trails in the region. I recommend you to go on the Rondom Appenzoll hike. It is a short easy round trip hike around Appenzell which can be done in around 2.5 hours. In spring there are flowers everywhere and every part of the hike looks like a post card.
