Spent just few days on our trip through Switzerland, but it was excellent experience. Great location close to the lifts, amazing view from the room, very helpful staff. Also - if you travel by car, the garage spots are exceptionally large - no worries about fitting big SUV or manoeuvring in the garage.

In summer, the lake is lovely for swimming.

In summer, the lake is lovely for swimming. There are plenty of shops (for groceries) and a few restaurants. But otherwise, Walenstadt doesn't offer much. Explore the surrounding area: mountains for hiking or skiing (Flumserberg), boat trips: Quinten, Bad Ragaz, Heidiland, Landquart, etc.

I thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the lake for swimming...

I thoroughly enjoyed being so close to the lake for swimming and boating. At least one trip, and in our case even two, to the Flumserberg mountains is a must! We can recommend the pizzeria in the village. Good shopping opportunities.

A beautiful spot very close to the lake and the beach.

A beautiful spot very close to the lake and the beach. Unfortunately, due to the torrential rains of the past few days, swimming was impossible, but the path along the water's edge is lined with magnificent trees and sloping vineyards. The play and picnic area is also very well laid out.

The hotel is in an excellent location so close to the railway station and all the immunities that the town has to offer The staff are exceptional you feel very welcome and nothing is too much trouble The beds are comfy. The room is large and the food at the hotel is very good too.
