I had a fantastic stay at this guesthouse, where I was hosted by kind and welcoming owners. The room was very comfortable and beautifully decorated, but it was the owners who made my stay so unforgettable. They helped with transport to/from the Great Wall, even when I wanted to leave early in the morning, and cooked delicious food too! I would highly recommend their home to anyone visiting gubeikou.

Stayed for 2 nights with my family of 6 adults. The house is super comfortable. Beds 10/10. Bathrooms are superb. Service is exceptional, Andrew went out of his way to help us with anything we needed. Breakfast beautifully served. Quiet surroundings. Simatai entrance easily accesible by taxi for 10 rmb/p/p, a 10 minute ride that the host will organize for you. Thank you for everything!

There is only one word that can describe this place: Paradise. I have travelled many countries, and it was at this small little inn in the middle of nowhere that left an everlasting impression. The innkeeper, Xiao Wei, is the most wonderful innkeeper in all of China. She cooks for you like you would expect growing up in an Asian household. The proximity of the place to your own secret 20km length of the Great Wall is the main selling point. In my 4 days here, I went up the wall 3 times because the wall is just in the backyard of this inn. Pretty insane! I also met lovely people while staying there. Chances are, the people that are willing to come all the way out here to Gubeijou will also be very lovely to other guests. I cannot stress how willing I am to return to this inn for a quick getaway whenever life gets tough.

The stay from start to finish was amazing. The hotel is family run, and has a very friendly and homely atmosphere. Lily and her husband are fantastic hosts. They provided lunch, dinner and breakfast while we stayed and each were delicious (the food is locally sourced). The hotel itself is modern and comfortable, with a rooftop terrace where you can view parts of the Great Wall. The remaining view is of luscious green trees on the surrounding mountains. Lily actually booked our entry tickets (and chair lift up/tobogan down) for us. The entrance to the Great Wall is a 5 minute walk away, but Lilys husband dropped us to the gate as we were going very early in the morning. I'd recommend staying in Mutianyu if you can when visiting the Wall, and would especially recommend staying here! We had a great time staying there! Brian and Sophie.

Absolutely amazing stay. Room was spacious and clean. Bed large and comfortable. Mickey is the perfect host! Super helpful. Picked us up from the base of the great wall for check in and then took us up in the morning helping with tickets!! The breakfast was amazing. The best one we had on our trip. The coffee was so good!! Would happily stay here again. Nice and close to the wall so very convenient. Highly recommend.
