This is our 2nd stay at the Apsara plus 1 stay at the neighbouring sister hotel Moondance. It's ideal for hiking, biking, e-biking, rafting, rock climbing, and rafting ........... Check-in was easy, just hand in the passports/ID and they'll bring them back to you when registered, the public area has a cosy fireplace, a small bar and a restaurant area. Tea and coffee are on hand all day, and afternoon snacks are provided as well. The restaurant food is mostly Chinese but tasty and a few other bits such as chicken popcorn and chips for the kids. Breakfast is fine with cereals, toast, a range of hot foods, eggs and noodle soups. The pool is open all year and the brave in winter can take a dip! there is outdoor seating overlooking the river and a rainproof gazebo in wet weather. The rooms are spacious and rustic. the beds are clean and comfortable with aircon for hot and cold as needed. Some rooms are suitable for families singles couples and friends so plenty of choices. Tips - contact the hotel for we chat connections and they can be super helpful and cater for your needs. free bikes are on hand and the hotel can help with a range of activities, many an easy cycle or within an hours walk. hiking the back trails along the rivers and karst is easy and well worth it but download apps to your phone such as MapsMe, Locus Map and A Map have most of the paths marked between them. The nearest train station is Yangshuo 2h30m ish from Guangzhou and 4-5h30m from Wuhan and the airport at Guilin. The hotel can arrange transfers.

Very friendly and helpful staff, they helped us a lot with planning the activities. Room was clean and we had an amazing view. Family friendly, as we travelled with a toddler and there were toys and a small playground present. The restaurant was really good, enough choices for each meal, Asian or Western cuisine. A big plus: a shuttle bus that can take you to the booked activities and to the city centre (to city centre: there are few free shuttles throughout the day, as the resort is located a bit further from the centre)

This hotel exceeded all my expectations! The location in the Ten-Mile Gallery is absolutely breathtaking, surrounded by karst mountains and lush greenery. The rooms are well-designed, with modern furnishings and a relaxing ambiance. The bed was super comfortable, and the shower had great water pressure. The service was exceptional—the staff spoke fluent English and were incredibly helpful in arranging bike rentals and local tours. They always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. This was one of the best hotel experiences I've ever had. I would love to stay here again.

Spectacular! Beautiful scenic landscape.

Spectacular! Beautiful scenic landscape. We loved the bamboo rafting on the Yulong River. We also spent a lovely morning at Ruyi Peak with the suspension bridge and the glass walkways and views of the karst landscape stretching into the horizon. We took a 4 hour ride along the Shili corridor on the electric tricycle with a friendly lady driver who stopped at all the scenic viewpoints for us to take photos. We spent an evening on West street but felt it wasn’t enough! We also watched the Liusanjie show but didn’t quite enjoy it due to language barrier. The food was quite repetitive amongst all the restaurants offering the same menu. We enjoyed the bamboo baked chicken, the beer fish and taro pork.

Yangshuo has grown in the last 10 years ...

Yangshuo has grown in the last 10 years ... I found it better than the last time I was there. It is much cleaner, much more organised. It has more attractions to see. Love that electric motors are used on scooters and boats ... meaning the place is much quieter. The local people also seemed much friendlier. It is a great escape from busy cities, to go into nature and see how beautiful the natural scenery is.

The view is superb!

The view is superb! I have never seen anything like this in my life. The locals are kind and ready to help. Very safe to travel by family or alone. It's best to spend a week there and explore the region by renting a local electric scooter . But some point of interests are far apart and required to travel by boat so if you can't be bothered, make sure to have your local tour guide to help.

Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin.

Yangshuo is what people think of when they think of Guilin. It is set in beautiful surroundings, with karst hills, forests and rivers, is full of history and interest and is packed with lively bars and restaurants but has easy access to quieter, rural lanes and villages. Visitors love to dress up in local dress and photograph themselves so there's quite a party atmosphere. I loved it and wished I'd stayed longer than two nights.

There is a lot to do in Yangshuo.

There is a lot to do in Yangshuo. Very nice places to see and we can also enjoy some of them using a bike or scooter. Take a cruise on the Li river and enjoy a bamboo boat rafting (quite soft). At nigh don't miss the light show, an amazing event on water with more than 200 artists

The places so lovely! The views were amazing, and super spacious. It is right in front of the river, minutes walk to West Street. The space feels so special, traditional, with super tasty restaurant. Everyone in town knew the hotel because of the restaurant. Everyone was super lovely and they communicated to me before arrival to explain how to get to the hotel. They were super friendly during my stay. The bed was big and comfortable, firm matress. I would love to come back here and I will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Yangshuo.

Absolutely incredible views from the front garden (and front facing rooms). Beautiful view of the river and the staff were so attentive when I was out there in the day (putting the fan and parasol on) or in the evening if there was a bit of rain (putting the umbrella up). The food was the best I have had in China so far- and they did brilliant vegetarian food. I am learning Chinese and the staff at the hotel helped me to practise. Very close by (10 mins walk) from one of the rafting locations. The room was nice and comfortable- great AC.

From my room, I enjoyed amazing vistas of lush landscapes and karst mountains. The staff were incredibly warm and helpful, always ready with a smile and great local tips.
