dahlandia is eco sustainable village/complex of cabañas owned and run by “el profesor” (a retired university professor/ecologist) and his son Carlos also an ecologist. I spent 3 of my most peaceful days in this enchanting, authentic, unpretentious little piece of paradise in the middle of the Caribbean sea and I truly fell in love with the place, its nature and the local karacol village community..

The room was pretty and comfortable. A fan was enough to keep me fresh at night. There is a beautiful and calm beach very close to the hostel. Common area with hammocks was great too. Downstairs there is a little shop. They also serve lunches which were delicious!

Amazing location in the Caribbean! We definitely recommend the chalet option, we loved the view on the mangroves from the bathroom, where you can admire the colourful crabs and we even spotted two raccoons passing by! They are currently expanding with 3 additional chalets. The water in front is a snorkeling paradise, with underwater plants, corals and loads of tropical fish in shallow water for as far as you can see. The water is calm and you can swim quite far out of the shore, just be sure to wear a floating jacket and buoy for safety. Also bring some protective shoes to protect yourselves and the corals, the water is quite shallow and corals are hiding inbetween the waterplants. We also did some tours with the hotel which are done with the hotel boat, our favourite is the reef snorkeling tour. It was the most beautiful snorkeling we ever done, and is only 1 km straight across the hotel on the edge of the archipelago. So magical we did this tour twice! The plankton tour is also recommended, but requires the moon to be down for more darkness, in our case at 4.00 a.m. Also amazing to see the stars at night! Lastly we did the islands tour, which brings you around the 3 main islands (Tintipan, Mucura and Islote) and a stop on each (we combined it with a reef snorkeling tour). We passed numerous hotels, but concluded El Embrujo was indeed the best choice. Seems the sea can be somewhat rougher on other sides of the islands, or less underwater life/deeper sea. The kiosk at their own pier is also the best place to watch the sunset every night, and during the day is a nice cool shadow oasis with some wind in (for me) too hot conditions on the shore. Due to the Caribbean weather probability of being more volatile, we booked extra nights to ensure we at least would have some good days. Prior to arrival the weather forecast showed rain and thunder everyday, so we were quite worried.

This place is in the middle of paradise. The facilities are comfortable - especially considering the location - and clean. Staff is very nice and food is also amazing - fish is caught every morning and cooked at night. The hotel only has a few rooms and you’ll have this paradise all for yourself. They also offer some tours and help finding the right means of transportation to get to the island.

Paradise! A really beautiful Caribbean style island just under two hours from Cartagena. The staff were really kind and the food and drink were all delicious. An amazing spot to chill and relax for a few days but there are also activities such as kayaking, paddle boarding and snorkelling all available for no additional cost. And best of all, a chance to see and swim with fluorescent plankton if the moonlight isn’t too strong. The room was as described and clean and comfortable. There are so many nice spots, including a small private beach, with deckchairs and/or hammocks to sit and watch the sea with a book in hand. It feels like you’re staying in someone’s home rather than being just another customer at a hotel. Would really love to come back one day!

This place is paradise!!!

This place is paradise!!! The resort has been developed in a very natural way, we felt we had plenty of privacy and space around us. The food could be improved a little but overall the experience was great. The bed was huge and incredibly comfortable! Isla Mucura is the perfect place to relax! Get the elevated kiosk room if you want a bit of extra fun and uniqueness

The hotel is beautiful but it is a little pricey for what they offer. The food at the buffet was delicious but it was too limited. They don’t offer that much variety in the food. They don’t have kids menu so if you are travelling with kids can be challenging. The animation was very poor. The beach was really nice and a lot of space to sit.

The island is safe, peaceful, easy to explore, and has beautiful places to discover, like the Bridge of Love and the entire path leading to the public beach. The people of Puerto Caracol are friendly and fun. Kayaking around the island is something I would definitely do again :)

It's a paradise. Clear, warm waters. There's a small sandy beach at the hotel where we stayed, but a whole pier for sunbathing and going into the sea. Beautiful. You can snorkel. You can see with goggles. Gorgeous sunsets. The Mucura Club Hotel is very good.

A tiny island worth seeing before it disappears beneath the waves. The contrast between the eco-friendly accommodations and the extreme poverty of the archipelago's inhabitants, for whom environmental protection is clearly not a priority, is striking. A truly timeless and memorable experience.

It's a beautiful place to visit.

It's a beautiful place to visit. The San Bernardo archipelago is just as beautiful as the Rosario Islands, but without the crowds. The bioluminescent plankton is incredible, as are the corals and the crystal-clear water.
