Keep in mind that not all hotels have beaches, even though they do have access to the sea. Also remember that walking from one place of the island to another is not possible due to the mangrove, so most of the time you will need to take a boat, which usually is provided by the hotel at a cost. This is a place to relax under the sun, swim in the sea, eat delicious food, and do some low intensity activities like paddle board or snorkeling. It was a 2 hour boat ride from Cartagena.
It was a 2 hour boat ride from Cartagena. But once you arrive it’s an interesting island worth staying at for two nights. The snorkeling, fishing and beaches are great. It’s incredibly humid and that really the only big drawback. The only way to get around is by boat, but it’s part of the adventure. The privacy was peaceful; the staff at our "home" was friendly and attentive. Being able to use kayaks, paddleboards, floating chairs on our private strip of beach was priceless. During the day, the public beach was alive with tourists and local food merchants for a great taste of island life, but for the most part, everyone packed up and went home across the water after 3pm or so. Our beach was always private and more than roomy enough to be "alone" OR socialize with the other guests at our "home" - we made some new friends and enjoyed some meals together.Guest review byLedacoromotoUnited States - 10.0
Against my better judgement (because I want to keep this...
Against my better judgement (because I want to keep this hidden gem to myself...) I highly recommend visiting. I do recommend knowing some Spanish if you go to make things smoother but the journey was relatively easy and hassle free.Guest review byNathanUnited States
