In the beginning I was thinking the price was too high for a shared dorm… when you get there you get what you are paying, the place looks like a resort! The staff is amazing, super kind people, as well as the atmosphere. Drinks also are great! I am a backpacker, so during my travel I don’t usually go to expensive places, but I was attracted mainly by the plancton tour. I am glad I’ve been there. It’s a unique experience, one of the best I’ve ever had. They will provide you snorkeling masks and take you to see the shiny jellyfish! Trust me it’s totally worth it, I also did another plancton tour in Cartagena but there is no competition. To see good plancton with proper masks and snorkel, go to el embrujo. Mosquitoes have not been a problem during my stay.

Great place with just enough rooms (maybe up to 10 guests max.) to still feel comfortable, relaxed and at home. Two nice beach areas, tour possibilties (snorkeling, plankton luminosa) and a great kitchen with fresh seafood (also vegetarian options) Running cold water and normal toilet (no buckets, salt or rain water like in isla roots or ecohotels)

Bliss. Idyllic boutique tiny hotel on a tropical island. Simple but very elegant design. Such thought and care is put into everything. Excellent staff, particularly Karen. Snorkelling is great. Kayaks available. Boat trips to nearby islands. Private beach. Excellent breakfasts and amazing fish. There are no local bars or restaurants which I thought might be an issue but really wasn’t. Loved it. The most relaxed I have ever been. Ever. I’d go back in a heartbeat.

Most of the places near Isla bonita don't receive credit cards so here we found it very handy and easy to use our card and not worry about taking cash in hand 😉

Everything about Casa Tinti boutique hotel was fantastic and exceeded our expectations. The host and staff were very friendly and welcoming and treated us extremely well. The hotel is in a beatiufil location with an amazing atmosphere for dining (lunch, breakfast and dinner). The food was excellent and accomadated my partner and her gluten allergies. And their dogs are also friendly and occasionally joined us for swims right off the hotel door step. Highly recommend and this place and will definitely return, next time I am back in colombia!

It was a memorable experience. Every day was different… different colors in the sky, different dishes, different people to meet, different animals crossing your path: Toucans, Bengales, Iguanas, monkeys and dolphins… Some things never changed though: the quality of the food, the sound of the waves in the morning, the warmth of free coffee throughout the day, the staff's generosity, and their attention to detail. It is everything I travel an hour and a half to see in Australia AND MORE: stunning sunsets, great music, and the option to dance/play games/have good conversations, or just be alone with a book in one hand, a cocktail in the other, and your feet in the water. A true connection to both nature and community. There’s always something to do: snorkelling, kayaking, volleyball… you can go see the planktons at night and visit neighbouring islands, including one of the oldest, where you get to witness a warm community that lives in a truly inspiring way. You can also swim with sharks there and then head home to relax over a full body massage!! IF THAT WASN’T ENOUGH, there were also yoga and dance classes while I was there. After two months of traveling through big cities, it was a real breath of fresh air… I had the TIME (and a solid connection) to call my family and make them a lil bit jealous. On top of that, I finally had time to meditate and dive into some creative projects. I couldn’t think of a better way to disconnect from reality than at Santa Lova. It’s a little corner of paradise and I've never experienced anything like it! I feel so much more grounded within myself… Cherry on top: Before catching the boat back to Cartagena, I picked up a beautiful handmade bracelet as a little souvenir. I can’t wait to go back there and share the experience with my friends and family!!!

Keep in mind that not all hotels have beaches, even though they do have access to the sea. Also remember that walking from one place of the island to another is not possible due to the mangrove, so most of the time you will need to take a boat, which usually is provided by the hotel at a cost. This is a place to relax under the sun, swim in the sea, eat delicious food, and do some low intensity activities like paddle board or snorkeling. It is not a place to explore the surroundings, have long hikes, or party

Long and expensive trip to an overcrowded island.

Long and expensive trip to an overcrowded island. There is one good beach near the boat jetty only and it is overcrowded by daytrippers. All other beaches near the hotels full of corals and stones. Don't go three. Food bad.

It was a 2 hour boat ride from Cartagena. But once you arrive it’s an interesting island worth staying at for two nights. The snorkeling, fishing and beaches are great. It’s incredibly humid and that really the only big drawback. The only way to get around is by boat, but it’s part of the adventure. We also loved swimming with the plankton at night.

The privacy was peaceful; the staff at our "home" was friendly and attentive. Being able to use kayaks, paddleboards, floating chairs on our private strip of beach was priceless. During the day, the public beach was alive with tourists and local food merchants for a great taste of island life, but for the most part, everyone packed up and went home across the water after 3pm or so. Our beach was always private and more than roomy enough to be "alone" OR socialize with the other guests at our "home" - we made some new friends and enjoyed some meals together.
