We did a tour to the cheesemaking farm Herencia, high up on the slope of the volcano. Getting there via Google maps was a bit tedious but on the way back we got better directions - via Santa Cruz and Torito. The tour is a great experience! On the way back we visited the national monument at Guayabo. We also tried to reach the Aquiares waterfall, but this is a bit difficult to find and we did not get there in time, had to turn back. The last stretch is climbing over big boulders along the riverbed.Guest review byStegeman

We were unlucky with the weather because the location of the hotel gives on to the valley and all accomodation are faced towards the valley with full windows walls and doors. I will definetly go back on my next trip to the east coast . Its located pretty much halfway and i really want to see the view ! Anyhow its not a 10 just because its not a 10 but its definetly a place to discover and a great stop when crossing from sanjose ! I forgot to mention hot showers !!!Guest review byYanCanada

Steven brought us through the night on a bumpy adventorous natural street up to the lodge. View and landscape are amaizing. Mia and Ranzel are lovely and very helpful patrons.
