Great location and view, very beautiful hotel, pool area and rooms and above all the most friendly staff and manager/owner you can find. Diner and lunch were also very good, they only offer what the fishermen have catched that day which means everything fresh!!!

Very nice building, in colonial style of the town (which is on the tentative Unesco world heritage list!). The staff are very friendly and helpful, we had a really nice time! The room was very large and spacious, and we had windows on the street side (facing the sea) with amazing views.

This was probably our favorite stay in our trip; the ocean view we had from our room and from the breakfast terrace was simply breathtaking, we were sad we only stayed one night. Breakfast was abundant and tasty, buffet-style with some cape verdian dishes, such as cuscus. The room was clean, spacious, as well as the bathroom. The staff was also very friendly with us and someone could also speak some English. They helped us calling a taxi when we discovered our flight was anticipated and we risked losing it.

Two days in Fogo is way too short - but I booked nine more days in the wonderful hotel Ocean View - and that was a perfect lenght for visiting this VERY interesting island Fogo. But DO NOT react to ANYBODY offering You ANYTHING in the street - I had real bad experience with that - a tourist guide cheated mo for one hundred euro plus a wasted day...

A very pretty town, hilly with superb colonial architecture.

A very pretty town, hilly with superb colonial architecture. An ideal starting point for exploring the island (the west is paved, the east is cobbled) and for accessing Pico de Fogo (a 2-hour drive to Chas das Caldeiras)... a must-see. At the very least, climb Pico Pequeno (an easy 1-hour round trip).

A fantastic destination for hiking on the volcano and...

A fantastic destination for hiking on the volcano and descending through the forest on the windward side. Three days is the ideal duration. Great music on Friday evenings in the bar behind the municipal library.
