We were very pleased with our stay at Zamecky Pension! The location within the castle walls is lovely and convenient to a variety of restaurants. We walked along the river and enjoyed drinks as the sun set. Our room was stylishly decorated, comfortable, and spotless. Breakfast was especially nice and we greatly appreciated that the staff helped us to meet our dietary needs :) Zamecky Pension and Podebrady are charming!

Poděbrady is perhaps one of the most scenically-set small to medium-sized towns in Europe and feels much larger than it really is. My home town is Belper, Derbyshire and one would have to go back over half-a-century to when its population was that of Poděbrady's, which is something to cause one to pinch oneself - "There's the railway station. There's the park. There's the main square. Oh, did I tell you about the river...and the meadows around it? Silly me!"

It is one of more modern style spas (100 years old only) in the Czechia and easy to access by train from Prague. Great for cycling, because it is mostly flat land and routes available along the rivers. There also historical landmarks from the time before the spa. Nice park and 8 freely available mineral springs (April-October). You can take a boat ride as a full trip or only one-way (to Nymburk and get back by train or to the merge of rivers Elbe and Cidlina). It is good for small children too, there are some fine playgrounds, but only two are near the historical part, rest is in the north of the town (across the railway). Other interesting spots for a trip (by a car) are available from here (for example Kutná Hora).

Poděbrady during Advent? Wonderful.

Poděbrady during Advent? Wonderful. The owner said that last year there was more and nicer lighting on the colonnade, but we liked it. Stalls, a concert for trumpet and organ, mulled wine, a program and various stops throughout the city, devils and angels. A beautiful stop, forget the hustle and bustle and enjoy the peace.

For train passengers, the close proximity of the station and...

For train passengers, the close proximity of the station and the park with spa houses is pleasant. (I recommend visiting the Milko milk bar and their yogurt desserts near the station.) During our visit, we walked through the park to the square and the castle. Everything was neat and tidy.

Great accommodation for families with children.

Great accommodation for families with children. Excellently equipped, we didn't miss anything. The owners were very nice and helpful, the arrangement was easy. We appreciated the rich activities - trampoline, playground, basketball, tennis court and paddleboards. We really liked it here and we will definitely be happy to come back.

Poděbrady is a beautiful city.

Poděbrady is a beautiful city. Everything is close at hand, a beautiful cycle path, a spa park. Lots of great restaurants, I recommend looking at reviews on Google. For us, the top ones are Pivovarská restaurace, Cucina, Náš Hostinec and right below the Viktorín Alfredo guesthouse. The Lego Museum is worth a visit.

I stayed for five weeks during a language class in Poděbrady. Laszlo was a wonderful and accommodating host, even giving me a ride on a few occasions when I got lost or fumbled with the train. The space was clean and comfortable. Breakfasts were fresh and tasty. I rented a bicycle for a very reasonable price. I would stay here again and would highly recommend to anyone.

hotel was in great location, parking on site was provided , all foods eaten at the hotel has been to a really high level, the location allowed us to access the beautiful park directly outside of the main door, all requests to the hotel staff supported.

Clewan modern hotel right on Lazensky Park and near the middle of Podnebrady; has a small swimming pool which the other local hotels don't. Quite large rooms with comfy beds. Nice powerful showers.
