Sometimes you can get surprised while traveling. Once I had a trip with my family, I found the "Old school" hotel. That was brilliant, because my daughter - school girl was traveling with us. How I was surprised, when I realized that the hotel I booked was indeed former school. I asked my doughtier if she imagined she can spend a night in school? That was real adventure. We arrived quite late, but the captain was so welcoming. He offered us superb czech supper. He told me that grandfather of the present owner was the last director of the school. Rooms are made in the former school classes and cabinets. Parking place is large and safe. Cuisine is brilliantly czech-style. Beer is fresh. The breakfast in the morning also was home-style and tasty. I saw they have SPA, but we hadn’t tome for it. Left it for the next time. The hotel is placed in the middle of the village in front of the church, so you will be pleased by hourly melody of church bells. Staying here, you have possibility to visit the complex of caves only in 10 minutes walking from the hotel. So me and my family were pleasantly surprised. I would especially recomend the place for visitors with school-aged children. If I am ones more in that land, I would obviously to stay in the Old School hotel ones more.

Beautiful renovated building with tematic design in the rooms. A lot of birds in the park located direct to the hotel. Well oraginzed check-in by phone, perfect room to store bikes for night. Perfect view from the rooms to the mountains and the park.

I liked this accommodation. The pension is in a quiet location. Parking is available in front of the area. The room was smaller, for sleeping complained . The room and bathroom was clean. A communal fridge was available in the corridor. There is also a shared kitchen where everything you need to prepare snack.

The whole ambience was really cozy. The room was huge, with nice roof windows, and the beds were very comfortable. The dinner was quite good and the staff friendly. They even allowed me to charge my car in one of their plugs. We joined the jacuzzi in the morning, it was raining outside and the panoramic windows made the experience very special. They also allowed us to stay in the spa for an extra half an hour, all of this when we had already checked out. Breakfast was quite varied, with fresh bread and most things you would expect. They had toys for kids in the restaurant, which is always appreciated when traveling with children.

The staff was exceptional. I have not met this level of care for a very long time. Great location if you want to escape the busy world and be close to beautiful nature, yet not far away from many interesting locations. I would definitely come back, to recharge my energy again. Highly recommended!

This was our third stay in the boutique pension Rech, we like to come back The accommodation offers free buffet snacks and dinner, including local wine and excellent continental breakfast. The romantic relaxing atmosphere is definitely original., Some rooms include saunas, others private gardens.. Recommended for pairs without children. Beautiful view of Blansko city.

Hospitality however is not their strength.

Hospitality however is not their strength. The men working at the hotel don’t bother look at you, they don’t give tourist information (or not complete, such as that you can’t visit the caves with little children), and are just not good at hosting. Childfriendly should be the quality of the hotel; and yes there is a playcorner, but it isn’t open every day. And for the babybed you have to pay extra, something they forgot to tell (also for the sauna, which costs a fortune). The bill was full of extra costs. It was not at all what we expected and we will advise you not to go to hotel stara skola!

The town had all the essentials for us: a church with 3 Masses to choose from; a pizzeria and beer hall with friendly service; well-stocked grocery stores, cave tours, and walking trails.

Sloup is a very pleasant place.

Sloup is a very pleasant place. Sloupsko-šošůvské caves are within walking distance. All important caves of the Moravian Karst are very close by. In the hotel "Stará škola" there is a nice restaurant with amazing cuisine.

I recommend inquiring about the agreed price for accommodation before your stay. In the end, we paid more than agreed through booking, we should have paid € and we had to pay in Czech crowns and €25 more.
