Sometimes you can get surprised while traveling. Once I had a trip with my family, I found the "Old school" hotel. That was brilliant, because my daughter - school girl was traveling with us. How I was surprised, when I realized that the hotel I booked was indeed former school. I asked my doughtier if she imagined she can spend a night in school? That was real adventure. We arrived quite late, but the captain was so welcoming. He offered us superb czech supper. He told me that grandfather of the present owner was the last director of the school. Rooms are made in the former school classes and cabinets. Parking place is large and safe. Cuisine is brilliantly czech-style. Beer is fresh. The breakfast in the morning also was home-style and tasty. I saw they have SPA, but we hadn’t tome for it. Left it for the next time. The hotel is placed in the middle of the village in front of the church, so you will be pleased by hourly melody of church bells. Staying here, you have possibility to visit the complex of caves only in 10 minutes walking from the hotel. So me and my family were pleasantly surprised. I would especially recomend the place for visitors with school-aged children. If I am ones more in that land, I would obviously to stay in the Old School hotel ones more.

The room was spacious and gozy and breakfast good. The stuff was friendly and absolutely helpful. We arrived late, but we got extra hot water for tea. The location is perfect to visit Puncva caves. Lot of thanks!

I liked this accommodation. The pension is in a quiet location. Parking is available in front of the area. The room was smaller, for sleeping complained . The room and bathroom was clean. A communal fridge was available in the corridor. There is also a shared kitchen where everything you need to prepare snack.

We liked everything! Location, helpful staff, good food, drinks, peaceful, great parking, lovely walks around the grounds. We will visit again for a longer stay as the area deserves more exploration.

A great place to stay in Moravský kras. The guesthouse is conveniently located within a 15-minute drive from the most important sights. Quiet neighborhood within a small village ensures proper rest after an eventful day in the caves. The room was clean and spacious, containing also a small kitchenette. The restaurant downstairs offers a wide range of reasonably priced local dishes and generous breakfasts. Most of the staff speaks English and parking was always available. Overall a great experience.

This was our third stay in the boutique pension Rech, we like to come back The accommodation offers free buffet snacks and dinner, including local wine and excellent continental breakfast. The romantic relaxing atmosphere is definitely original., Some rooms include saunas, others private gardens.. Recommended for pairs without children. Beautiful view of Blansko city.

Hospitality however is not their strength.

Hospitality however is not their strength. The men working at the hotel don’t bother look at you, they don’t give tourist information (or not complete, such as that you can’t visit the caves with little children), and are just not good at hosting. Childfriendly should be the quality of the hotel; and yes there is a playcorner, but it isn’t open every day. And for the babybed you have to pay extra, something they forgot to tell (also for the sauna, which costs a fortune). The bill was full of extra costs. It was not at all what we expected and we will advise you not to go to hotel stara skola!

The town had all the essentials for us: a church with 3 Masses to choose from; a pizzeria and beer hall with friendly service; well-stocked grocery stores, cave tours, and walking trails.

Sloup is a very pleasant place.

Sloup is a very pleasant place. Sloupsko-šošůvské caves are within walking distance. All important caves of the Moravian Karst are very close by. In the hotel "Stará škola" there is a nice restaurant with amazing cuisine.

I recommend inquiring about the agreed price for accommodation before your stay. In the end, we paid more than agreed through booking, we should have paid € and we had to pay in Czech crowns and €25 more.
