Comfy beds with feather duvets and cotton sheets, cosy apartments and great restaurant on the roof terrace. We were in transit so didn’t use the kitchens in the 2 apartments we booked but enjoyed a meal outside on the roof terrace overlooking the river and watching the sun set behind the spires of the old town of Bad Wimpfen. Great breakfast in a traditional German style room - a great end to our 3 week tour of the Alps.

Convenient stopover on the way through Germany. Clean and comfortable. Sadly, the bakery someone else mentioned on here appears to be closed now. So bring your own breakfast. There is a Netto supermarket 5min walk away. For dinner we can recommend Sportpark Gaststätte about 10 min walk away.

Besides Bad Friedrichshall, you should definitely visit Bad...

Besides Bad Friedrichshall, you should definitely visit Bad Wimpfen (which can be reached on foot along the Neckar River) and Bad Rappenau. The town of Gundelsheim, with its historic center, castle, and viewpoint overlooking the Neckar Valley, is also worth exploring. Unfortunately, the salt mine in Bad Friedrichshall was closed. It is expected to reopen in 2024.

Bad Friedrichshall has nothing to offer besides the salt...

Bad Friedrichshall has nothing to offer besides the salt mine and the three rivers. There is no town center in the true sense. Cycling through the town is almost life-threatening due to the traffic. There are no bike paths. Access to the rivers is also difficult and congested.

Bad Friedrichshall might not be that exciting, but Bad...

Bad Friedrichshall might not be that exciting, but Bad Wimpfen, on the opposite bank of the Neckar River, boasts a very picturesque old town. Park walks, the salt mine (open to the public), and the brine baths are probably the most interesting things to do in Bad Friedrichshall.

I cannot recommend Bad Friedrichshall!

I cannot recommend Bad Friedrichshall! I couldn't find any restaurants! There's no pedestrian zone! The town is spread out and there's no town center! I'm surprised it's allowed to call itself a "Bad" (spa town)! I'm disappointed with the town and cannot recommend it!

Excellent location for cycling tours along the Neckar,...

Excellent location for cycling tours along the Neckar, Kocher, and Jagst rivers; unfortunately, there are few restaurants and the town center is not very attractive. We had good meals at the Salinenbiergarten and at "Die schöne Aussicht" (The Beautiful View), which has a lovely terrace.

I understand the building is old and floor and beds makes noise but why in 2025 nobody from hotel management did not order proper window curtains for blocking the light. It’s few euro so please get this done. It won’t change the look of the room but comfort will increase for sure for all of us. Sleep is really important. We all will benefit. Photo attached. breakfast room is modern so you upgrade the room as well.

Even the hotel was in renovation, the owner took us, gave us a premium room on the top floor. We had coffee and tea in the room for the next morning. The room was clean, the beds were comfy. The bathroom was with all the things/shower gel, shampoo, etc./ Thank you for having us :))) The view from the restaurant terrace was amazing too!
