The price!!!! We had Room One directly above the Reception and to be honest I can describe it as an Apartment. We were only staying one night but did so in luxury. A massive bathroom with separate bath and shower room. The in room coffee machine was a nice bonus.

If you are looking for a great location in Detmold that has excellent facilities for bike storage with breakfast include this is your Hotel. Very nice staff too. Room was beautiful, even had an outside terrace. We enjoyed our two nights at Elizabeth Hotel and Detmold. Wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again. Thank you.

Detmold is a beautiful town on the edge of the Teutoburg Forest with good restaurants and shopping. The sights (Hermann Monument and Externsteine) are easily accessible by bus without a car.

Saw a beautiful old church in the town center.

Saw a beautiful old church in the town center. It's very hilly, so cycling is difficult unless you have an e-bike or mountain bike. It's a nice little town, though. Externsteine is a 15-minute drive away. It's a lovely walking area. If you want to visit Externsteine in peace, you'll need to arrive early. It gets busier around 10 a.m., especially in good weather. The surrounding area is beautiful.

A beautiful city with a historic old town.

A beautiful city with a historic old town. Lovely shopping streets, beautiful buildings, and good restaurants. Sights include the Detmold Palace, Kaiser Wilhelm Platz, Palaisgarten, Open-Air Museum, Hermannsdenkmal, and Externsteine. Public transport is excellent, with trains and buses running hourly.

There's plenty to see; the Externsteine rock formation and the Hermann Monument, with its beautiful views of the surrounding area, are highly recommended. The LWL Open-Air Museum in Detmold is also a must-see, where you can easily spend the whole day.

The surrounding area is beautiful, with rolling hills and forests, and a few points of interest. Detmold itself has a lovely historic center, but it feels somewhat like a ghost town. Outside the historic core, the city is very run-down. The restaurants are not recommended, except for one Vietnamese place (Bao Ngoc). There are no grocery stores in the city center.

The room (1) we had was very comfortable, very tidy and extremely well decorated. The Bathroom was excellent. It has a lovely bath and separate shower that is outstanding with shower controls recessed in tiles on the wall. Plenty of storage space for belongings etc. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. There was nothing to really dislike at all at this hotel.

Beautifully maintained apartment on the edge of the Detmold Altstadt. Superb location in a relatively unknown part of Germany which deserves to be much better known. Suitable for the seasoned traveller or those who are new to Germany. The owner is very helpful and communicative with guests.

Super friendly staff as always, arriving in the afternoon there is free coffee, which allows to slow down at arrival after driving to Detmold. The rooms and apartments are spacious and I enjoy the spacious new renovated bathrooms.
