Breakfast was excellent: plenty of variation in breads and variation in cheese/meat as well. The rooms are spacious and neatly designed with a very calm but luxurious atmosphere. The bathroom is massive, has a good shower, and a wide sink. Rooms are clean and well-maintained, and properly cleaned every day. The location is supreme: in the centre of Oberkirch with access to parking spaces and directly next to the train. The restaurant in the hotel is also strongly recommended. Some other random good points: stable, fast and free WiFi. Parking included with the hotel on a nearby P+R (2 min walk). Lovely sitting area outside the room with some books and games.

You can tell this is a business run with care & attention to detail. We loved it! From start to finish, over a 3 night stay we were not lacking for anything. The staff are so friendly and always checking you have everything to make your stay comfortable. The surroundings are second to none. The views are beautiful, it is so peaceful and it’s a very relaxing place to stay. We were a party of 6 ladies looking for a lovely venue for our schnapps getaway. We did a 12 mile schnapps walk one day - it was absolutely stunning. We had dinner one night at the hotel and the food was perfect - it is a top quality dining experience. I would recommend the 3 course set menu! The food was delicious and every member of our party enjoyed the food. Breakfasts were great - freshly baked good and lots of continental choice, plus cooked eggs and bacon. Rooms were very spacious, spotless and well laid out. Thankyou to the hotel for having us. Top tips: There is a bus running to and from Oberkirch, which is free when you get a ticket from the hotel. They run every hour and it’s only a short journey. The local swimming pool is immaculately kept and a great day to spend the day - 2 pools, a baby pool, diving boards and a slide, plus great little snack bar.

A very small, charming village in the Black Forest, with many hiking and walking opportunities. Larger towns for shopping are nearby, but unfortunately, the selection of restaurants is very limited; however, it's possible that many were closed for holidays, which wasn't indicated.

It's a perfect place for nature lovers and those who enjoy good food and drink. The valley's municipalities have put together a comprehensive package for tourists, offering plenty to discover. The natural surroundings, the deep forests, the vineyards, and the orchards ensure a constant holiday mood.

A charming village with lovely places to visit – Lauterbach...

A charming village with lovely places to visit – Lauterbach itself is very small with only two or three restaurants. There's a beautiful walk along the Rench River. Other destinations worth visiting include Freudenstadt and the Allergheiligen Waterfalls, both very beautiful and worthwhile. I can also highly recommend the Hotel Sonnenhof and its excellent cuisine.

Beautiful hikes are possible. Great mountain bike tours. We had one meal at the Hotel Sonnenhof. On the second day (Saturday evening), we couldn't find a restaurant. We got food from the bakery next to the hotel. It's essential to book a table for dinner very early on weekends. By noon on Saturday, there were no more tables available, not even in neighboring villages.

Since all the restaurants were closed, we had to go to Oberkirch. A train runs there once an hour, which you can use for free with the guest card. Unfortunately, the whole place was deserted.

Our stay exceeded our expectations, everything was perfect: kind and professional staff, comfortable room, perfect cleaning and breakfast. We used the wellness area and found it modern and very spacious. We also had dinner in the hotel restaurant and we found excellent food and an extensive wine list.

Super friendly staff and owner. Warmful hotel with lovely terrace. Nice restaurant with good quality food. Wonderful breakfast and well-located. Train station next to this accommodation with free public transports ticket for the région's trips. Worth it!
