The room was amazing for such an old building. Had everything we needed. Room was very clean. Bed comfortable. Very quiet even though we had the windows open throughout the night. Lunch and supper very good. Breakfast was the best that we ever had in an hotel. Bread rolls hot and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Buffet was amazing. We would love to spend some more time here next time.

We technically stayed in Orscholz, which is a smaller hamelt of Mettlach. It's right where the Saarschleife is as well as a number of biking and hiking trails. We only did the Saarschleife and the Spielplatz, but could have spent a couple days there!

Mettlach is a charming small town in Germany with many good shops. The church is also impressive. There are a lot of very nice hikes easily accessible from there offering tranquility and interesting landscape alongside the river Saar, for example. Burg Montclair, the remains of a castle on the hill, is also accessible and you can get coffee and cake until the end of October.

A quiet place with all we needed.

A quiet place with all we needed. A good place to do sightseeing, by bike, on foot, by car. Great place to be in the garden as well. Not a lot of eating places but the kitched is well equiped. You can easily cycle into Luxembourgh or France.

We were delighted with the queit and idylic location of the guest house: in its own park, looking back over the river towards lovely Mettlach. The guesthouse was also charming and had a real sense of history and the Belle Epoch about it. The Villeroy & Boch wares in use and on display were welcome. We had a pleasant meal in the restaurant and were very appreciative of the staff member's wine knowledge and recommendation: the 'Black Print' from Pfalz was delicious!

The hosts are really nice, I apologise and wish we could speak German, I think we could talk for ages. The accommodation was spotless clean, well equipped and the parking is perfect right near the front door.. Garden on all sides, a really beautiful home. The location for Saar and Mettlach is ideal (with car) we had a fantastic stay. Thank you.

Good for a one night stay. Walk in shower was superb. Room very spacious. Restaurant waiter very helpful. Breakfast in bakery next door, also owned by the hotel owners, was very good and fresh. Interesting small town steeped in the Villeroy Boch Pottery empire if you have time to look around.
