All was fabulous! All appliances were new and modern. It was great to have a lift when arriving with luggage. The railway station and old town are very close. A few missing items that may have made our stay stay even better were a microwave and a clothes dryer, even though there was a clothes airer.

    Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests.

    Mittenwald has a lot to offer for all ages and interests. The historical city centre has a number of sights and a good choice of restaurants - for many the real beauty begins once you leave the city. From taking cable cars, walking along the river or through the forest to climbing peaks up to around 2,500 m, the natural surroundings are stunning. The city does a good job at offering public buses that take tourists to the most important sights and trailheads, giving us the chance to leave the car at home and help preserve the gem that Mittenwald is!

    We loved wandering through the town, looking at all the painted façades of the old buildings. There is a variety of walks from Mittenwald. We did the walk to the Leutascher Geisterklamm, beginning at the Koboldpfad & completing a figure 8, crossing the Panoramabrücke twice. We also took the Kranzberg chairlift to the top, then walked to the Lautersee, down the Laintal, following the waterfall & back to Mittenwald.

    The view of the beautiful Alpine Triangle is stunning.

    The view of the beautiful Alpine Triangle is stunning. We were very lucky that on the first day we arrived, the weather was clear and sunny, with a strong sun that made for great photos. When it was time to leave, the weather turned gloomy and it started to snow heavily, with big, fluffy snowflakes. The entire trip was a wonderful experience, and I highly recommend it.

    Lot's of restaurants of different kinds.

    Lot's of restaurants of different kinds. Hiking trails were very popular. It's easy to walk through the town center. The people were nice and friendly. The Penny Markt sells good water and pretzel sticks.

    A town straight out of the picture books.

    A town straight out of the picture books. We loved browsing the shops, trying loads of cafes and generally wandering around. The chair up Kranzberg was fun although the restaurants at the top were all closed so we struggled a bit for food and drink. We came down on the mountain carts (twice) which was thrilling. Loved the free concerts in the spa park, Leutasch Gorge, Trip up Karwendel, spas in Seefeld, Leutasch and Kochel Am See. The Museum of Bavarian Life near Kochel was a highlight and our day up Zugspitze unforgettable

    Charming historical town, seemed to be mostly local tourism. Great hiking, waterfalls, and traditional Bavarian food. We walked most places but there is public transport easily available. Kitchens at restaurants close rather early (~8pm), so just make sure you eat before then if you're hungry!

    It was a nice and comfortable apartment. The whole apartment was nicely decorated and very clean. It's hard to find anything bad about this apartment. The owner is an active and caring lady. All the communications we had were satisfactory. The location is also very good, with easy access to any tourist attractions in Mittenwald. I have never stayed in an apartment with such perfect facilities. I hope I can stay in this apartment for a longer time in the near future.

    I've stayed there many times (since ~ 20 years ago), and I have never been disappointed. Great location, comfortable rooms and facilities, very friendly and helpful staff, and one of the oldest and most established hotels in Mittenwald - yet constantly being renovated to meet the highest standards.

    Lovely old tradition building. Self check in details via email, which were very easy to follow. Very spacious upper floor apartment with 2 floors & 5 bedrooms. Amazing views! Lovely 5 minute walk into Mittenwald & 10 minute walk to the train station.
