A rare opportunity to stay in a monastery, let alone a beautiful Benedictine monestary in Bavaria. Clean, roomy, comfortable bedroom. Enchanting setting just next to the Danube at Vilshofen. Excellent restaurant on site with friendly staff. Highly recommended.

We were welcomed very warmly at Gasthof Wolferstetter despite having arrived early and at a time that the staff were exceedingly busy. Our room was immaculate and although the facilities are not opulent the bed is very comfortable and everything perfectly functional. The restaurant downstairs serves breakfast lunch and dinner and we barely enjoyed our meals

Simple, functional and clean room with very good bed. The bathroom is super. The place is, by default, really quiet. Breakfast was perfect. This is a very nice place. I recommend it.

This hotel is AMAZING! Very traditional, clean and comfortable. The staff were all very helpful and friendly. We had a lovely view from our balcony. The room was extremely clean and bed was very comfortable. We had one of the best nights sleep in a long time. The swimming pool area is a good size and again clean. Heated outdoor pool also but we didn’t use this due to the weather. We had an evening meal in the restaurant which was super! At breakfast there is a lot of choice and the food is fresh and tastes great. Hotel is in a lovely quiet little village with path and nice areas to walk. We loved this hotel and will most definitely be back.

A pleasure to stay at this lovely place - quaint and right next to the monastery church in the delightful village of Aldersbach. Very nice breakfast, lovely staff and an excellent restaurant serving local specialities. Would love to come again!

    We were there to meet our river cruise boat. An interesting, historic and pretty small town with good walks by the Danube. Italian restaurant near to the tall clock tower was very good. One night would be fine.

    This is a gem of a hotel. It’s not really a conventional hotel at all but a hundreds of years old monastery nestled on a hill overlooking large expanses of fields and ponds. My room was magnificent (ask for Bishop Zimmers room) with sweeping view, architecture to die for and plenty of walking paths and an on premises restaurant. (Closed Mondays). It’s VERY quiet and this huge property is 15 minutes walk down into the village below. A real find!

    Very tradition and location right in the middle of town. Simon and Katerina were fabulous hosts. The hotel is very old - has been a pub since the 1500’s so was very charming and traditional. We would stay again.

    Charming hotel in a small town. We only stayed one night as we were boarding a river cruise the following day. Had dinner in the restaurant and breakfast the next day. Food was excellent

    The owner showed us to our room. The hotel is in a great location for us to join a river cruise. Beautiful street with a superb restaurant and staff. Loved our stay.
