Winterberg exceeded expectations. One believes that you would need to go to Switzerland or Austria to have a great ski holiday, but the truth is a short 4 hour drive from the middle of the Netherlands you are in a place where as a beginner skier you have everything you might want! If you go to Winterberg, do it for the nature.
If you go to Winterberg, do it for the nature. Lovely for walking or touring with your car or motorbike. The village Winterberg is not that special, but it has nice restaurants and a good icecream café. Take a look at other bigger villages for daytrips. Although there was not a lot of snow, some areas were still open as they provided fake snow for people to ski. This was perfect for my partner and me as we were still beginners with skiing. Therefore, I would highly recommend this place to anyone who wants to start learning to ski. The area is a professional ski resort and has a lot to offer. Unfortunately, we had no snow in the first week of the year. Aside of snow sports, I can recommend the indoor playground MonkeyIsland because of the fair prices and their kind service. Our kids had a lot of fun there. Perfect location, everything’s near!
Perfect location, everything’s near! Wonderful views of the room we had..Mountain View and lawn view plus the sound of the rooster not only early in the morning cockadoodling but during the day as well! Makes you feel in a remote village. Breakfast was ample and sumptuous, friendly staffs, lovely ambience, everything is neat. We had massage as well and it was so relaxing 4 nights stay at this lovely hotel! The small cozy restaurant served scrumptious schnitzel and trout fish and with portion of fresh green salad. However, we didn’t enjoy the swimming pool, twas not warm enough! Would love to come back and stay here again!Guest review bycarolineGermany

There was a care package of dishwasher tablets, tea towels and washing liquid to use. The car parking was covered but not locked in. There was a separate bike/ski store cupboard near the parking that was lockable.
