Restored former mill next to the Schloss. Walls were so thick -out of stone - we could not hear the traffic beyond the courtyard. Our bathroom window opened to the wide, deep creek. Our breakfast rolls were freshly heated and eggs freshly scrambled. The young couple running the place were amenable to making arrangements for the key as we arrived after reception closing hours.

We go to Zeitz every year and always stay at the Hotel Maximilian. The hotel has a perfect location in the town center. The friendliness of the staff, the rooms, and especially the excellent breakfast make it ideal for a short trip. For dinner, we always go to the Green Island Pub, which has been around since 1993 and comes highly recommended.

Excellent hotel.

Excellent hotel. A very quiet village with great business potential, attracting more tourists to the town/village. But surrounding the city are many villages and towns you can easily visit for a wonderful day out. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. They have a small menu that you can order in advance, and everything is freshly purchased that same day.

You have to visit Zeitz at least once.

You have to visit Zeitz at least once. One in every two buildings in the center is empty. There's a stroller museum. It's a very beautiful park. I love walking past the old buildings, even if they're empty. It must have been a wealthy city once.

Zeitz is a little gem; there's so much to discover if you take the time. Moritzburg Castle and its gardens were the highlight of my short visit. I'll definitely be back.

The city has changed significantly for the better.

The city has changed significantly for the better. You can feel the desire to make it attractive and appealing to tourists. There are very beautiful squares and alleyways with plenty of space to linger. Unfortunately, there are very few shopping opportunities. Most of the shops are empty. Zeitz offers a lot of culture and sights to see.

A place with potential seems to be dying out.

A place with potential seems to be dying out. An attractive, well-maintained city center teeters on the brink of death due to rampant vacancy. Just outside the meticulously renovated historic core, ruins await their revival.

Very good value for money hotel with its own parking (for free) , very nice early breakfast, free coffee from 6 o clock in the morning ! Sort of family, homely feel. Good heating system ( stayed in november). Cant vouch for wifi since i didnt use it. Very friendly and helpful gentleman at the reception. All in all excellent experience. Would stay again if in the area

I liked the location of the hotel. It is in the center of the town and its very easy to het from that place to any destination on town. There was a smiley man at the reception who kindly informed about the keys and room.
