Helsingor is an adorable town an hour north of Copenhagen. I don't know that I'd have ever thought to go there but my son decided to get married there. It was an ideal meeting place for both families as his wife is from Germany. There are lots of lovely shops and restaurants and the ferry to Sweden is super easy to catch. Historic buildings extremely interesting, nice architectural design of the town, close location to many potential places worth sightseeing. A little bit too poor availability of restaurants, in particular on weekends. Very unfortunate system of payment for parking lots in town, complicated in operation and not always working. Helsingør is a lovely town with beautiful medieval buildings, lots of nice shops, cafes and restaurants. It's by the sea, so has it's own beach, a large castle, museums, bike hire, a cultural centre and it's very quick and easy to go to Copenhagen by train, or to Helsingborg by ferry, or to visit some of the nearbypretty coastal villages by bus or train.Guest review byMalinUnited Kingdom - 10.0

It was easy to walk to all the sites and there was a lot that interested us. We visited for two days in mid-December. If we were there longer in warmer weather, we would explore more nearby places. This would be easy because of the train and ferry in town. We enjoyed the shops and restaurants. On another visit, we would go to the castle earlier in the day. There were things we weren’t able to do because our tour was too close to closing time. Helsingor is a ninety minute train ride from Copenhagen. I am from Brazil and I would like to move straight there. I love the Viking vibe, the city is extremely clean, the city is beautiful, the churches and castles are wonderful, the food is extremely delicious despite being simple, everywhere I went I can say that I had the best dish I've ever eaten, chocolate Hot, the tastiest I've ever had and even a simple burger at a restaurant called BBQ was the best I've ever had … and even being lucky enough to see snow for the first time, it was magicalGuest review byMayorIreland - 8.0

We were quite disappointed during the time of check-in as we were not given a room based upon our booking. The hotel gave us three rooms to look at and pick from and we insisted on the room we initially booked. Finally we were alloted a room that was comfortable.
