As a frequent traveler and blogger, I will give them their pros and cons. The place clean and nice, the environment is safe and secure with adequate staff to include security. They have 4 large swimming pools, a jacuzzi, and a diving beach nearby. You can dive off the property into the sea. [Not the Sandy walk-in beach.] That beach you can get a shuttle bus from the hotel to the sandy beach 10-minute drive. Shuttle runs every 30 minutes. The food was good. I am a Jamaican/Canadian, so our cultural food is different, but Alma has 3 separate restaurants and a buffet plus 2 snack bar, so you will find something to eat. Italian and Dominican restaurant goes by reservation. The Sushi restaurant can walk in. Staff very friendly and patient. However, 9 out of every 10 staff members do not speak or understand English. So we had to have Google translate at our finger tips wverytime we see a staff who doesn't speak English or we have to ask for one who speaks English, which can be time consuming. The hotel has daily activities inside and outside of the pool. They have night activities starting at 9pm to 11pm adult activities. However, the activities are done in Spanish, so I was not able to participate in any other than one of the dance which was also in Spanish but the steps are pretty easy to follow. The entertainment section was well organized don't get me wrong. However, I had to ask the dj can you play at least one English song so we can feel like we belong. He eventually played 2 English songs for that night lol. Big up Channel one of the entertainment staff he is full of vibes. And made our trip a fun one. I must say all the staff were good to us, no bad reviews for any of them.

We stayed at GuaiGui for six nights, and it was truly a special experience. The place itself is a little paradise, a lush tropical garden with beautifully designed eco-friendly guest houses, and a peaceful atmosphere that makes you feel right at home. But what really made our stay unforgettable was the warmth and kindness of Yoel and his family. They’re incredibly welcoming and genuinely care about their guests, always happy to help or just share a friendly chat. And then, there are the dogs! Seven of the sweetest, friendliest dogs you could ever meet! If you love animals, this place is a dream. What touched us the most is that they don’t just care for their own dogs, but also look after many in the neighborhood, and this is one more reason why we were very happy to have stayed there. We are both vegetarian, and we got delicious rich breakfasts with fruit, toasts, eggs and juice. The variety of plants in the garden attracts many beautiful animals, including hummingbirds and lizards, making it a fantastic choice for any nature lover. If you're looking for a place with soul, where you can relax and enjoy nature (and lovely dogs), this is the perfect choice. Would absolutely stay here again!
