The sign of a first class hotel is the reception staff. They were gracious, poised, and eager to be of assistance. As a traveler in a foreign country where I do not speak the language this is especially valued. I always appreciate breakfast in the hotel. This breakfast was generous and additionally had interesting side dishes that were local/traditional. We enjoyed a drink just outside the hotel in the arrival evening; the locals were enjoying live music and it was fun and lively. The location was convenient to walk along the river and to the old town. We were able to park for free (weekend) at the bus depot parking lot. We really enjoyed exploring everywhere in Tartu, especially the two neighborhoods with street art (we found a map to aid in our 'treasure hunt' from the city website). We highly recommend the Meat Market near the main square for starters - toasted garlic bread was to die for. The ethnographic museum was AMAAAAZING - and we would have loved to enjoy an outdoor concert at the festival venue. Walking around the famous cathedral park was lovely. Tartu was my favorite town in Estonia. Oh yes, and the beds were perfectly comfortable.
