The time, distance and effort to travel to this remote oasis and location in Egypt is difficult. Unless you have a private guide, the bus or private taxi would be a challenge..! There are interesting sights, both historical and archeological to visit here in the oasis area. Incredible opportunity for healing and energizing, calming and letting go of stress and worry, busyness in the mind. I loved everything: Salt Lake, Hot Springs, Shali, Mountain of the Dead, Siwa Old Style Home Museum, Fatnas Island, Grand Siwa Hotel. Otherworldly rock and salt formations, ancient tombs and constructions, 12th century fortress unlike any other, has an organic feel rather than an imposing one. A village with its own unique charm.
A village with its own unique charm. Experience the calmness and connect with nature in the heart of the western desert. The salt pools are spectacular and had a great time riding the sand dunes with a 4WD. The community is close nit which makes it even more relaxing for tourists and visitors. A must try is one of the fresh fruit juices blended with fresh basil, mint or lemongrass. The room was comfortable, and although we had a few issues with the bathroom, everything was quickly taken care of once we mentioned it. The food was good, and the overall atmosphere very pleasant. The facilities are beautiful and the hotel is fairly new. The bed was also comfortable and the balcony big .The aircon worked perfectly which was handy in blazing Siwa ( other friends said their hotel didn’t have this and were suffering at night) and the staff were very helpful.
